Seems the so called independent Commissioner for the Royal Comission witch hunt into the Unions, isn't so independent after all.

Bit of a test for the new speaker when they dropped that bombshell today. Though I think it was the deputy chairing when they did it. All sorts of help needed from the clerk.

I have it on good authority that Tony Abbott could be ousted within a month. There is lots of talk in the Liberal party, and moves are being made.

Who is the alternative? I find it hard to believe MT would be voted in by a party who generally despises him.

Yeah - I've just noticed that Morrison's odds have really come in.

Turnbull would have to make a significant move for Morrison to become leader

Morrison has no reason to challenge Abbott ...but he would stop Turnbull if numbers started to move his way

And she is a lightweight on anything out of her comfort zone.

Nah - Steve Smith is next in line.

ScoMo might have to settle for PM.

Interesting that Pyne has effectively attacked ScoMo today over SSM and ScoMo's desire for a referendum to change the constitution.

I have a feeling that the next few months will be hella fun for a middle aged pinko. Not sure how much actual governing there will be mind you.

What was a thirteenth tier issue for most could now move up quite a bit. They should just roll over. Those marginals aren't going to swing on this but some less so might.

Well I hope they fail on this occasion. Abbott needs to go.

Perhaps but if ScoMo isn't going to get them re-elected why would they bother changing. Every pollie's first instinct is to get re-elected.

As I said earlier, should be fun to watch.

(Although as I understand it, a lot in the party don't like Morrison either).

I may as well be on Mars (while in the UK) when it comes to Aus Political news. So is Abbott effectively gone? The Libs are just waiting for the right time for a spill to end his reign?
