A mouldy kumqua?
Virginia Bottomley?
Flat Eric?
The entire works of Shakespeare, enacted in a very old church?
The smell of a warm spring breeze?
All good choices

Re: So, England's next coach then
Yorkshire say the ECB haven't approached them about Gillespie.
I think it'll be a safe, steady yes man. Mark Robinson, from the Lions - Peter Moores' protege. Or Mick Newell, current selector and perennial applicant.
Maybe Paul Farbrace will just get promoted by default. That's how they ended up with Andy Flower.
Certainly, the job gets less attractive with every self-inflected gunshot wound.

I think Taips and Embee have come up with the right result
Shippy and Mickey would make a great co-coaching team.

Re: So, England's next coach then
How about thinking outside the square and appointing no coach. Just a bunch of trainers and leave the rest to the captain...............................oops! Just realised this is a joke thread.

If they can wait another month, most likely they can have Mickey M'house.

Humphrey B Bear always brought the best out of young people.
am certain Bobby Simpson would be up to it...he would help improve the fielding and running between the wickets...
of course cricket fanatic John Howard (who is still looking for gainful employment) could be considered

Re: So, England's next coach then
No well-regarded, forward-thinking, outspoken coach with their own ideas will want the job. English cricket is a laughing stock at the moment and those with any brains and reputations to uphold will realise they are better off staying away for now.
