I doubt very few would want to work with Cook - who's basically a career-killer.
I think the idea of 'no coach' has some merit.

I think Cook's now got rid of as many England coaches as Graeme Smith has England captains.
Maybe Smuthy should be our new coach, and see who "wins"...

I was counting Gashley but I suppose he went after a WT20 in which Cook didn't take part. He was official JAMODI coach with Cook as captain though, I think...

Good point! 3-3 then. I'm still 80% certain that Cook will take another one or two down before he's bumped off.

So the Neph is a bit up himself then?
And what's doing with the Malt Balls' ginger beard?? Trying to make himself look like an elder statesman? It just makes him look even more like a gnome.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if they keep Farbrace, with Strauss the guy who is really in charge.

So Strauss is now Director of Cricket, de facto coach and non playing captain.

Nephew seems to me to be one of those annoying, cocksure types. I'm sort of not surprised the neanderthal took a swing at him.

He might have to resume the opening batsman role as well on recent evidence.

Re: So, England's next coach then
If England have to have any hope what-so-ever they MUST have an AUSTRALIAN,there are several on the market, each one many times better than anything England can produce but I'm afraid my favorite Pommie team (Yorkshire) are going to miss out on Dizzy who is from my home state of South Australia,as is Lehmann Australia's Genius coach, .......Oh what the poms would give to have HIM.

[quote="eowyn"]Surely all Aussies are on Strauss' "c**ts never to be trusted" list. How can he ask Gillespie to be coach?[/quotE
Because Dizzy is the second best cricket coach in the world, and Strauss wont mind being two-faced at all if it means a big turn of fortune to the "League of nations "cricket team.

Gary Kirsten was one of the best-ever allrounders, but COACH ?????????????..........Have you ever heard of Darrel Lehmann???Neither England or South Africa could afford him.HE IS UNQUESTIONABLY THE BEST IN THE WORLD,just look what he did with the worst Australian team that I can remember and turned it into the current best team in the world.

Re: So, England's next coach then
I'd have Kirsten at the top tbh. He took two teams to the top of the pile. Would've thought England would snap him up when he made himself available, if only for one format.
ETA: But it is understandable why they didn't want to try that again.

Everything Lehmann knows was 'borrowed' from Tim Coyle.
