Vic scored their 1107 runs in exactly two days of play, having bowled NSW out just before stumps on day 1, beginning their innings with the first ball of day 2 and making 573 runs for the loss of one wicket before collapsing on day 3, losing their remaining nine wickets for a further 534. Bill Woodfull, who scored 133 of the opening partnership of 375, scored by far the slowest of Victoria's four centuries but still made all his runs in well under two sessions. The final margin was an innings and 656 runs, which may also have been a world record at the time.
