Re: Ashes lockout with Aussie players on the front foot
Coincidence?
http://www.cricket.com.au/news/tony-dodemaide-resigns-victoria-bushrangers-ceo-step-down-april-2018/2017-08-01
Certainly he's an administrator with a successful record, respected by the players, so he's already got two advantages over the pillocks currently 'leading' CA, and he's going to be at a loose end shortly ...

Nein Nooz reported tonight that both parties are confident of a deal by the weekend that will allow the Banger tour to proceed.
Fingers crossed.

Seems a deal has been done
"Australian cricket's long and ugly pay dispute is finally over, with Cricket Australia and the players finally agreeing on a peace deal on Thursday afternoon.
After 10 months of butting heads, the sports' worst industrial crisis in 40 years had accelerated towards a resolution following a threat last week by CA chief executive James Sutherland to have the matter ruled upon by independent arbitration.
The negotiating teams from CA and the Australian Cricketers' Association had worked long inTO the night throughout this week to settle their remaining differences in the drafting of a heads of agreement, as the troubled talks threatened to go off course again.
They were at last able to find middle ground on Thursday. An announcement in a media conference is expected in Melbourne at 4.30pm on Thursday."

My brother said it was something like 30% of actual revenues limited to 27.5% of forecast ones.

All the cricketers have to do now is start earning their money.
Re: Ashes lockout with Aussie players on the front foot
So ACA has what it was after, a continuing revenue-sharing arrangement.

From another Aussie mate.
CA and ACA have reached an agreement. Shane Watson has immediately called for a review.

The details were announced at 4:30 pm AEST.
Continuation of the revenue sharing arrangement, as sought by the players all along, has been confirmed.
The percentage share to the players has actually gone up, to either 27.5% of actual or 30% projected ... actually more than they were asking for.
I'm expecting a few CA resignations in the coming days.

So could Sutherland be 'Scuttles' from here on - assuming (hopefully erroneously) he survives?

I'd say those two and Howard. Probably staged departures to save a bit of face for CA, who have screwed this up royally.JGK wrote:skully wrote:lardbucket wrote:The details were announced at 4:30 pm AEST.

You know it's a complete SNAFU when Sutherland emerges from the pile of crap smelling like roses.

The Parrot on the radio this morning described Howard as "unemployable".

That's probably more to do with rugger than cricket. Correct as the sentiment may be.

You gotta wonder if some of the dinosaurs from the old days were behind this. I mean the only way to explain such monumental incompetence is to rely on the Oswald defence. Forget Howard. HTF any of these yokels can find a job anywhere requiring measurable Lois is beyond me

When they changed the governance structure of the board and took away the state cricket criteria they seem to have got businessmen who think they are running a mining company with unknown worker nuffies and not a sporting organisation full of the instafamous
