Wow! Did not expect that when I checked the score after 30 or so overs.

Don't usually like the word, but this is a hell of a choke by Australia.

Finally, I can say I wish our men played like women and mean it.

Very piss poor effort by Aus. Saved their worst for last.
Well done to the Bannies. 171* out of 281 is remarkable by Kaur.

Remarkable innings, by all accounts.
I didn't expect Aus to lose.
Here's a slightly freaky thing:
Game 2 - India W 281-3; Eng W 246 a.o.
SF 2 - India W 281-4; Aus W 245 a.o.
India Women may have the wood over England Women.

Surprised nobody remarked on the "impregnable" higher up the thread.

Hats off to Anya Shrubsole. Clutch player tonight. Again, to use that word... Awful choke. England keep their run of home world cup wins going. But unexpected this time, to be completely honest.
But a successful tournament by India. Very well done to both teams.

Re: Women's World Cup 2017
Surprising turnaround in latter stages. I suppose showing once again - not only in the Women's game - that even if the total is modest enough, and you prioritise keeping wickets over accumulating up with the rate, panic and tumbling wickets can follow when you try a bit late to change that slow rhythm into a momentum.
But that is only part of it. Well done especially to Anya Shrubsole.
Again, I am glad Taylor seems (hopefully) over the worst of her doldrums, and batting like she used to before the hype and expectation - presumably - got to her.

Re: Women's World Cup 2017
Well played England, good to see them on top again after a bit of a dip in recent years. Great spell from Shrubsole though nerves and inexperience clearly got the better of the Indian lower order.
I think India will be here to stay though, and the competition will get ever tougher.

Aye the big winners were England, India and South Africa. The big losers were WI and NZ
