Be very careful. Last time Honduras lost a vital WC qualifier they declared war.

The last penalty came about when Kruse was brought down half-way between the spot and the line so worth the risk - esp when you don't get sent off

That's Gorbachev's fault. Before he split the band there was a perfectly good Beatles song....

With India failing to qualify for the world cup, it is now a scientifically proven fact that they're on par with Italy and Netherlands.

Now there's only the small problem of the draw. Though supervised as it is by the most transparent and accountable organisation on the planet there's probably nothing to worry about

The only guarantee is that Aust press will say we are in the "Group of Death" whereas the press for the other countries in our group will see they have to play us and christen it the "Group of Life".

I'm 100% CERTAIN Russia won't draw Peru, Iran and Panama in their group.
Potential "Group of death": Brazil, Spain, Senegal, South Korea
Potential "What is this, 2002 again?": Argentina, England, Sweden, Nigeria

Ah, so the pots are based on current world rankings (other than Russia - who are 65th).
Pot 1 has teams 1 to 7, Pot 2 - teams 8-18, etc. 1 team drawn from each pot to make up a WC Group.

There are some stipulations - no more than one team from the same confederation in each group, except UEFA, who are restricted to at most two teams per group.
