Re: Football - 2017/18 season
Going to be against Panama or Honduras most likely. The US in the unlikely scenario results all go against them. Would be tilting towards those teams as favourites right now.

And India's u17 team have showed themselves very decently in that world cup. Barely lost to Colombia after hitting the post twice. The crowds have been bloody good for annu17 tournament.

This has been the story for some months now. No control, no touch, no class.

Chile fail to qualify for the world cup! Double defending South American champions... USA out too.
Australia will play Honduras.

Australia should be favourites in that one... NZ in with a shout against Peru as well, compared to some of their other potential opponents.

Any team with Jozy Altidore in it doesn’t deserve to qualify... 70 Premier League games and 2 goals, and he plays up front...JGK wrote:PMSL at the Seppos although no doubt FIFA are not happy.
I’m sure Trump will be confused by Costa Rica qualifying ahead of them... “But you said they’re part of America, you know, the hurricane and all that... Puerto Rico? Is that not the same place? I’m confused now, bigly... What about Nambia, did they qualify?”

Not sure about the Australia match. They're quite awful tbh. Definitely expecting the winner of that too be amongst the weakest teams in the tournament.beamer wrote:Australia should be favourites in that one... Without a doubt. The Socceroos lack vision and hunger. Although it's not out of the question that they will fail to make the WC despite having only lost one game in qualifying.

There was a bit of an unlucky own goal and then an absolute screamer from well outside the box. Apparently* Fox Sports US paid $1billion for the WC 18 TV rights. They would be feeling sick.

Re: Football - 2017/18 season
I reiterate, PMSL.
Just watched the Ewetube highlights. The 1st T&T goal was just an extremely poor attempt at a clearance by the USA defender, that looped off his shin into the goal. Not bad luck, just very bad defending. Alvin Jones' goal (2nd for T&T) was indeed a stunning long distance strike. The Yank goal was pretty good too.

Also, one of Panama’s goals didn’t cross the line, had they not won then the Yanks would have had a play-off...

With us. It would have been the true World Cup "Soccer" Final (although it isn't out of the question that the Kiwis are the only English speaking nation who calls the sport Soccer, in the finals).

England win the u17s world cup as well. Really were fantastic through the tournament. Attendances were also bloody good for an age group tournament.
Of course, now they and the u20s won't get a chance with the clubs and will become PL and FL journeymen

Meanwhile, overnight in the EPL, Man City continue on their merry way to beat the Hammers 3-2 to sit 5 points clear at the top of the table.

Jayzus!!! Man City have slotted a remarkable 35 goals in the first 10 games of the season, an equalled the best points tally record for that number of games with 28 points.

They're 1.17 on the TAB to win the whole thing. And it's still only October!

Lazio v Nice in the Europa League last week.
Not a single shot on target for the entire match!

Meanwhile, Man City march to an 8 point lead (courtesy of Chelsea's win over Scum) in the EPL after trouncing the Gunners.
