Re: World Cup 2019
They also employed, at various points, Paul Smith, Keith Piper and Ed Giddins who I believe all have form in that department (although I think they signed Giddins after his offence...)

At least they don't have to get a new shirt made up.

Re: World Cup 2019
Kane got caned in the practice game along with all the other bowlers apart from Starc.
Re: World Cup 2019
England's top order looks in good nick.
I guess all we can hope for is that peaking too early is not good (remember the 99 World Cup when we struggled early then won the last 7 matches to make the Final) and that our side will be at its best at the end of June.

Re: World Cup 2019
If the lead up games are any indication - 350 is going to be a par score in this tournament.Â
We may well see someone scoring 400 and losing.

Re: World Cup 2019
England's squad as announced this morning:
Eoin Morgan (capt, Middlesex), Moeen Ali (Worcestershire), Jofra Archer (Sussex), Jonny Bairstow (wk, Yorkshire), Jos Buttler (wk, Lancashire), Tom Curran (Surrey), Liam Dawson (Hampshire), Liam Plunkett (Surrey), Adil Rashid (Yorkshire), Joe Root (Yorkshire), Jason Roy (Surrey), Ben Stokes (Durham), James Vince (Hampshire), Chris Woakes (Warwickshire), Mark Wood (Durham).
David Willey and Joe Denly miss out. I feel for Willey, he was very much a part of our white ball resurgence, but of all the steamers he offers least once the shine is off the ball.

Warner failed again
Re: World Cup 2019
That decision to give Smith out was bizarre.

Re: World Cup 2019
Looks a decent team bowling effort.
The 3rd Umpire was clearly on drugs when he gave Smith out.

I know he was of German descent but this portrait is as close to my imagined version of a Brit upper class twit as can be. It even looks as if he's going to start lisping at any moment now.
