Amazing in that in two epic sporting events going on at the same time the better side/player lost both at the death.

My God! What a match! And what a bloody stroke of luck right at the end.
Congratulations England. Deserved champions over the past 4 years' performance. And well done to NZ too.

Nah, in the cricket, The Good Guys were cheated out of it at the SF stage ...

What a game to be at and witness. Oh my God. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS! Never again will a cricket match of any real importance EVER match this for nervous excitement and sheer craziness. This is THE ODI cricket game of all time! Right let's hit the west end of London until about 3am. Happy days.

Re: World Cup 2019
Congratulations England, they've played a great brand of ODI over the years.
But this game NZ should have won- that 4 runs off Stokes was the decisive play and that's unfortunate.

Re: World Cup 2019
Well played Sir Eoin (does he qualify?) and the boys!
I was about to confidently predict that England were never meant to win a global 50-over tournament, and then Joffrey pulled it out of the bag.
We actually won it on boundaries, though the 1999 rule of higher group finish would have sufficed, as would world ranking... the teams deserved to share it really, but that would be an unsatisfactory ending.
But whatever the method of victory, it’s something English cricket desperately needed, and has made the investment of the past four years pay off, despite the conditions not being those the team had forged its reputation on. Getting some mass TV exposure took a long time, but hopefully this can give the sport the lift it needs. And that we can carry on the momentum into the Ashes. Let’s pick the same XI for Edgbaston, sorry Stuart and Jimmy, there’s a couple of seats in the commentary box waiting for you.

Re: World Cup 2019
Seems a most unsatisfactory way to decide a world cup. Why can't they just have another super over?.
Re: World Cup 2019
Good Lord!! Been out all day seeing the sites of western Collombia. No interweb to be had.
Did i read right that a WC Final has been decided on boundaries???
Congrats to England in what must have been a remarkable final hour or so.

Re: World Cup 2019
Might even get me watching it occasionally, pretty indicative of a lot of this WC. Now if only there were rule changes that could ensure more games like the ones we've seen............oh right.
Forget the overthrows that rope rule should go too. Still get rid of the farking ropes.
