I see local moderate folk in Kelly's electorate are looking to run a campaign against that gross tub of rubbish.

It is really interesting middle of the road folk around the country are banding together to run Independent conservatives against members of the fascist element in the Libs.

Whether this has the result of consolidating power to the Fascists but narrowing their electoral appeal, time will tell.

I expect there is little public support for their extreme far right views.

Meanwhile the Nats are in a bit of strife from farming communities, especially in NSW who are jack of the cotton and rice industries.

Spending money commemorating wars we should never have been in is a national pastime. They're honouring the dead which is fine but yeah 700 mil is a bit steep.

I'm pretty sure most people now realize, if they didn't then, that the war in Iraq was the biggest load of bull ever fed to electorates the world over.

Australia hasn't had 2 successive quarters of negative growth - the definition of a recession. Also at least one other of the 5 economic indicators (GDP, employment, retail sales, manufacturing, income) is not falling - employment.

Some economic wags have dreamed up some new marker called "per capita recession" (whatever the fark that is), which is what I guess you are pinning your Pinko hopes on.
