Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XV)
Don't worry, h, your question has crossed my mind many times in the past 5 months.
Indeed ScoMo's spendathon makes Rudd's $50 Bill 2007 spend look like petty cash.
In terms of the new size of the National debt I am not a supporter, given that the next two generations will have to pay it off, otherwise we become like the US with their runaway deficit.
Crazy, worrying times.

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XV)
You have to spend your way out of a recession, but it's how you do it. There's still a virus to contain, but fast tracking national infrastructure projects, whilst not immediately helping those federal numbers pollies cream themselves over, will all pay dividends in any number of ways down the track.
Don't know why I bother, I've been singing this tune since mining boom 1.0 ( thanks for the 48.50/fn Pete, sorry I didn't rush home and get the missus pregnant and score the baby bonus, worked a treat in aboriginal slumland though, young aboriginal girls pumping them out like donut batter into the hot oil that is life in a town camp).
The immediate scattergun approach was necessary, but now they've saved Brad banducci's jib and the thank you check from Gerry is on the way can we actually use the debt to put the country back to work and really give it a broad sweep. Carpet the nation with highways for the 22nd century, upgrade the ports and build hospitals and schools.
Messianic call to arms over.

Maybe he's Stueys ( whose due for a farkup) designated punch taker. I mean covid saw commentary of Taylor's financial illegalities and Fiona's sports rorts on steroids evaporate overnight, so they've got a few junior ministers with some clear air to take one for the Stumeister.

Meh. Don't like them all that much but Australia has been remarkably stupid in how they are handling things.

So Scotty effectively sacks the Australia Post CEO on the spot for paying bonuses to a couple of staff in the form of a watch, while he's known about serious sexual assault allegations against one of this senior cabinet ministers for months and says "he's denied it so all good".

Meanwhile, Morro's walking hard-hat zone Andrew 'Oops' Laming has, it is reported, made a grant of half a mill to a suburban rugby club to upgrade its changing rooms for its (non-existent) women's team. The club Secretary is married to Lamebrain's electoral officer.
His public administration methodology reminds me more and more of Darryl from 'Grass Roots'.

I used to wonder about this stuff "why do they think they can get away with it" and now I know it's because they don't care if they get away with it or not because there are NEVER any repercussions.

"Our"??
So you have embraced the Good Guys?
The rabid Pinko Coterie anti-Govt posting on another "cricket" medium* would suggest otherwise.
* MrK will know what this means. Apologies to other posters who will have no clue.

Meh, I'm Australian so the government is my government. Doesn't mean they aren't a bunch of corrupt rapist thunderqunts though.
That said, the other mob would sell our souls to China while wearing a rainbow poncho so they are unvotable as well.

Albo might be wise taking a lead from Chris Minns.
The silent majority sees him (Albo) as a bleating, whinging qunt. And his blonde Communist offsider is unelectable as a leader.

Better than if Labor had been in power.
Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (XV)
For a start, qunts like Krudd and the Vulture aren't ruining the country.
Nevermind Ponts, if Albo doesn't perform the arrogant clusterfark of a campaign that Shortarse did leading up to the last Election, you should be crowing around May next year.

Not exactly politics but I see that Alan Jones has been sacked by Sky News in Australia.
You know you are really pushing the fringes when you are too right wing for Uncle Rupert.
