Re: Current International One Day Cricket
Looks like another belting for the Snoozies coming up.
Bannies on their way to a 340+ score in the 1st ODI.

Kiwis get home with 11 balls to spare after some wobbles, with Neesham throwing it away and Taylor running out de Grandhomme.
Still, great ton by Taylor to shepherd the Sheep home.

What were Mo and Adil rested from?
Matty Parkinson. Rather odd to pitch him in at the start of the double series. (Admittedly consisting of only 3 of this format, and 3 x Thrashes - which is a fair enough division; unusual these days that there are more Tests on this tour than either ODIS or T20s, and nice to see.) In fact, nothing against the lad, but might it not have been wise to see him at work in the FIRST Division of the CC first? ...
But it was essentially the England batting that was strikingly substandard. Denly (perhaps unfortunately for onward plans) and Woakes being the only grit in the oyster.
Good knock from De Kock, good boom from Bavuma all the same.

I assumed Rashid was still unfit, but not clear that’s the case. Not sure if either are playing the T20Is, though unsurprising they wanted to have a look at Parky having taken him on tour.

Rain ends the second one early, with the Yarps having made a decent start against the second string England attack. So SA can’t lose the series.
Joffrey ruled out for SL and IPL, hope he will be back fresh for the home summer.

No AB-style fireworks on Pink Day this time... Yarps limping along to something around the 250 mark.

Well, I was almost spot on... some funky stuff from Miller gets them to something vaguely competitive. Crap final over from Katie.

Ngidi with a Harmison/Scott Boswell-esque start. Looks very much like someone who hasn’t bowled for a while. Jonny B cashing in.

Re: Current International One Day Cricket
The return of the two frontline spinners proved the difference here (and Ngidi’s early profligacy gave us a margin for error with the bat which we ended up needing).
Hard to draw too many conclusions from this drawn mini-series with half a first choice side, but we remain unbeaten in bilateral JAMODI series since 2017.

1-1 in the ODIs then.
Very successful tour for England so far.
Just 3 T20s to go.

Bit slack from England after doing all the hard work.

Yeah, 7 needed from 7 balls, was it, and they imploded...
Both sides failed to cash in on an explosive start with the bat. Could have been 220 runs each.

Has anyone seen Stoinis and Shane Watson in the same room together?
Scores runs for fun when it doesn't matter, fails when the heat's on.

Re: Current International One Day Cricket
39 off 11 from Mo to (more than) rescue that England innings. Ably supported by Stokes, who bizarrely doesn’t have a T20I fifty to his name, a duck he could have broken had he put away a leg stump full toss off the final ball.
Why Denly’s in the side (at 6, where he never bats in white-ball cricket of any sort) ahead of AC is curious. The latter possibly still in the doghouse for refusing to risk his wicket to run a bye off the last ball when he had a hundred to his name in Snoozia, apparently.
Still, 204 should be more than defendable.
