I went shopping yesty arvo (had to pick up a couple of rugs) and it made my skin crawl at how many people were in the shopping centre and how little effort was made at social distancing.

Thus shit is really scaring you isn't it. No shame in that I'm just a touch curious, apart from the obvious.

My main problem is that my partner's Mum is 87 and has lung/breathing issues. We've kept her away from shopping centres but after nearly 3 months she's going batshit and is hanging to get out.

Personally I'm not concerned for myself (I'm reasonably fit, have no lung issues and not in a high risk group age wise) but I can't afford to get the virus then pass it on to her. So I'm particularly mindful of OPGs (other people's germs).

As a rule I avoid the shops at the best of times.

And I'm one of the few whities wearing a face mask in Sydney shopping centres atm. Just about all Asians are wearing them, which I find a little ironic, given that region of the world is where this blight came from.

Nah. The pricks give me the shits. Normally facemasks all over Cairns and not a coal fired power station to be seen. In fact the Chinese are giving me the shi..ts. Sometimes I wish Trump would just park what's left of his navy off their coast and replay the last reel of every western ever screened.

The youngest sprog is desperate to get out and go on holidays to Croatia (from UK). She's talking about August this year.

I told her my fear is a 2nd wave in UK and Boris closing the borders (as he should have originally). That would leave my daughter potentially stranded in Europe (as many non-Aus citizens have found after Aus closed its borders).

Hopefully she cools her jets.

The borders to Croatia are open, more fool them, land ones at any rate. Mrsq and myself were going to spend some time there next year. My '"Bob" owns a farmhouse there and I figured it would be nice to see the country when it wasn't surrounded by crime scene tape

But yeah probably to early to risk it.

Yeah, getting into Croatia is not the issue, it is getting back into the UK if things go pear-shaped there (on 24 May they were down to just 19 deaths) while she's away.

Croatia isn't too bad on the service side, and is a fantastic place to visit.

Bosnia, on the other hand, was still bullet-scarred with hunted-looking people ... not a comfortable experience at all. Ruins with ghosts.

I was talking the Balkans in general. Went rock climbing in Croatia agreed it's a beautiful place. Looking forward to showing mrsq.
