Police issue scores of fines at Queensland car rally
Police issued 58 infringement notices at a car rally in the Brisbane suburb of Rochedale last night where people were flouting social distancing directives. Deputy Queensland police commissioner Steve Gollschewski, who is also the state disaster coordinator, has professed himself disappointed and frustrated and said the behaviour of people at the rally was “inexcusable”.
“This is all about safety. About saving lives. About stopping the spread of Covid-19,” he said. “It is inexcusable what happened at Rochedale last night and such blatant disregard for the lives of Queenslanders will not be tolerated.”

Frankly I'm beginning to think the cure is going to be much worse than the disease, at least here.

Re: Corona Virus
That sounds a bit like the desperate last-words cry of someone about to break cover and rush out, running hysterically amok, infecting everyone within a 20km radius.
DON'T DO IT BRADDERS. Take up sodoku, crosswords, potting, knitting or something.

I've got an exemption and as soon as the supplies are amassedI'm driving back to the gulf with them. Then onto the territory to try to figure out how to find enough people to muster the moocs. Backpackers throughout the land are going to praise my name. Why couldn't this have happened when I was young and single and could have made a right, royal pig of myself with lots of girls called Inge.

I thought Boris has looked poorly in various on screen shots shown of him of late. It didn't look like he was travelling too well with his Covid-19 infection.
I see he's now been hospitalised with the virus. The first world leader to kick it from Covid?

Well they'll probably dry up once it's all hands on deck, but I've been playing Russian roulette with my liver for ten years. Anyway prepping for Bouganville last year I started jogging again and haven't kiicked the habit. I used to run to work when I lived in London, mainly to shake off a hangover and keep the shakes at bay a little longer. It was farking a hell of a lot easier at thirty.

Seriously though I think they have to rethink this whole thing. For all of Morrison's rhetoric (and I think he's doing a good job in a tough situation) about not leaving ongoing obligations after the crisis, it's awfully hard to take back entitlements.

Yes (as John Howard showed by lavishing gifts on the boomers).

Depends on the situation. Helicopter to drive them to horsemen and horsemen to drive them to the yards. Sometimes quad bikes. Might be a bit more old school this year.

Not really. I made a decision years ago to only farm in areas where it might actually rain. Cost a fortune (took a bit of a hit) but basically that road Richmond is on and runs into the territory is the border with the no go zone.
Telling you what though I've been used to dealing with 'crats with no idea whose default position is " no". Big shout out to them at all levels this past fortnight. Nothing but " tell us what you need and how you need to do it"

The 'crats farqued up the daycare payments
Paying half at most of what was earned in an arbitrary fortnight in late Feb/early March no matter how many children in care each week
...and then made daycare more desirable by making it free to parents
It's just dumb
TLA runs a family daycare

Yeah - seemed like a very rushed decision with limited benefits.
