Victorian Health Minister resigns her job and from Parliament after Andrews threw her under a bus yesterday, saying it would've been her decision re: hotel quarantine guards.

She now says she can't work for or with him.

I read from that it was actually Andrews' decision and he is shifting the blame incorrectly to the exMinister i.e. "a head must roll but it won't be mine".

Feeling sorry for you nath. Being ruled by someone who has to be mentally unstable (apols to anyone dealing with such issues, but i hpnestly believe the guy is wired wrong) and an alternative that may be worse.

Meanwhile, over here on the round bit of Earth 68% of Victorians approved of Andrews' handling of the issue according to the latest (generally accepted) polling. That will take a haircut next week but still land in the mid-50s at worst. 100% of Planet S-Bend (or 106% of Sky2am polling) represents 0.00001% (approx) of the electorate, even while making 80% of the racket.

As an outsider, it seems fairly straightforward that there was a fair old SNAFU up front (which needs to be owned) before Andrews tightened the reins and did a pretty fair job of bringing things back under control. It's the problem with our partisan politics ... everyone has to be judged a complete hero, or a complete SNAFU, never than the truth which sits between. My judgment here is that Andres' team stuffed up, whether he was involved or not I have no idea; and then the team has fixed it, which has been an immensely difficult task.

There was a major-league cock-up - of that there is no doubt. Most of the time I can ignore the SBM/Sky bullshit but I can't help wonder if in this particular case the more the Noise leaks out the more it's undermining the community's recovery efforts.
