Bwahaha. Hope it is not an Abbott mask. You could get lucky with the Parrot.

Re: Corona Virus
More cases in Qld attached to the more contagious strain.
The Happy Clapper and pro Trump Deputy PM would be best stopping all flights from fekkin England and the USA, unless passengers and crew inc maintenance staff are isolated for a month and tested every few days before the flight takes off.
When they arrive they need to be placed in tightly controlled quarantined situations for a further month.

UK variant... surprised it was not the Saffie variety.
Seriously we have to be miles tougher on two phase quarantine. 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks post arrival.
We must not take people from countries that think it is joke

Agree, am sick of hearing from whingeing people stuck in COVID-infested areas complaining about the lack of govt. assistance to get them home. They are the only cause of the virus coming to this island. They have to understand the risk they place on the rest of the community and its lifestyle and economy.

Have to say I remain amazed at just how many Aussies were overseas when this blight hit.
And they are still dribbling back, carrying the fetid disease with them.

Agree, the govt. has organised one hundred flights for them and yet the number supposedly stuck overseas seems to keep growing.

Re: Corona Virus
Meanwhile it seems available treatments for those infected are failing against the new strains of the virus.
Doubts also arise about the efficacy of available vaccinations against the original and mutated versions of the Virus.
The Vaccinations Oz have acquired also have questions on efficacy for those aged over 65, simply because the the testing of the vaxx had a limited number of test subjects over 65.
Embee's hold my beer comment is spot on.

Urrkkhh - a hotel worker has now come down with English strain. Similar to the WA case, the worker had no direct contact with the infected person in quarantine.
When will the idiot Morrison ban flights to and from the UK and USA?

Premier Cricket got cancelled on the weekend
apparently curators arent essential workers
Junior Cricket cancelled too ...no reason for this but they've done it in case we dont get let out of lockdown

PATIENT-X UPDATE:
Security guard remains in hotel quarantine.
His housemates have all returned a SECOND negative test. They have been tested for a THIRD time today, results expected tomorrow.
No updates on the dual investigations in to how he became infected.

Nothing other than supportive care has been proven to be useful as treatment, despite the bleatings of Trump and other farkwits.
The vaccinations will have efficacy - it remains to be seen how much, and how variable efficacy is against different strains. My guess is that there will be reductions, but neither attack rate nor mortality will be reduced by much more than 60%.
