skully (or some other stats head...) Spill!
Sehwag went from 99 to 100 when the team score went from 127 to 128.
Is this the lowest Test team score where an opener (or any other batsman) has reached a century?

I can't find a specific reference Zat, but I can't see that being topped. The nearest I can think of was the Nob's monopolising of the scoring in the 5th Test at SCG v Poms in 98/99. When Slater got to his ton, Aus was 150.
Actually, just looked at the very 1st Test. At stumps on day one, Aus was 6-166 with Charlie Bannerman on 126* and Blackham on 3*. Working backwards (Midwinter and Gregory got 5 between them), I reckon Aus must have been around 130 when Bannerman passed 100. Viru probably holds the record.

I couldn't find anything, and suspected the same, thought you may have had a better source tucked away somewhere.

Re: skully (or some other stats head...) Spill!
A bit closer analysis of that first Test score. Cooper was 4th out at 114. The sum of the scores of the 4 dismissed batsmen was 29. Allowing for a couple of extras, Bannerman probably made 83 out of 114 (best case, no extras, he made 85 out of 114). So absolute best case is to add 15 to both Bannermans' score and Aus's total. So when Bannerman reached 100, Aus could have been on 129. But there were 8 extras so you would assume a few of those came before Bannerman got to 100, And no. 6 Midwinter may have scored a couple of runs as well. Either way, Viru did better today.

According to this Oz were 136-4 in the 93rd over when Bannerman reached his ton with Midwinter at the other end. The slow strike rate was offset by the over rate since England bowled 115 overs in the first day alone!:
The Very First Test: Bannerman's Miracle
We should also remember Graham Gooch's 154* out of 252 against the Windies at Headingley in 1991 (next top scorers Ramprakash & Pringle both with 27). This third innings knock was as remarkable in many ways as Botham's 149* a decade earlier on the same ground in setting up an unlikely win and it was certainly GG's finest hour. Probably the most remarkable innings to save a match was Dennis Amiss' second innings effort of 262* out of 432-9 at Sabina Park in February 1974 which took 570 minutes, 563 balls with one six and 40 fours with the next top scorer John Jameson with 38. Only an improbable 53-minute undefeated 3 by Bob Willis (who was to defy an even stronger West Indian attack six years later at The Oval) prevented Amiss from becoming the highest-scoring player to carry his bat.

Not in a test, but just as notable - Glenn Turner once scored 145 out of a total of 169 when playing for Worcestershire one time.

Scoring must have been sub-funereal at the other end; Turner was no dasher.

Re: skully (or some other stats head...) Spill!
The lowest completed first-class innings to include a fifty is Indians' 66 against Yorkshire at Harrogate in 1932, to which Nazir Ali contributed 52 (78.79%) and his partners just 9 (there were 5 extras).
The lowest completed first-class innings to include a century is Nottinghamshire's 143 against Hampshire at Bournemouth in 1981, to which Clive Rice contributed 105* (73.4%) and his partners just 35 (there were 3 extras).
The lowest completed first-class innings to include a double-century is Gloucestershire's 298 against Glamorgan at Newport in 1956, to which Tom Graveney contributed 200 (67.11%) and his partners just 84 (there were 14 extras).
The lowest completed first-class innings to include a triple century is the Rest's 387 against Hindus at Bombay in 1943-44, to which Vijay Hazare contributed 309 (79.84%) and his partners just 59 (there were 19 extras).
The lowest completed first-class total to include a score of 350 is Otago's 500 against Canterbury at Christchurch in 1952-53, to which opener Bert Sutcliffe contributed 385 (77.0%) and his partners just 86 (there were 29 extras).
The highest percentage of runs scored in any completed innings is 83.43% by Glenn Turner who scored 141* out of Worcestershire's 169 against Glamorgan at Swansea in 1977. The remaining batsmen scored 27 and there was one extra.
Thanks to Wiki.
Actually Turner was one of those players whose game was much improved by limited-over cricket and in the inaugural World Cup in 1975 at Edgbaston he hit 171*, admittedly against the East Africans (including Derek Pringle's dad), which was the then record score for an ODI and stood for 8 years until Kapil Dev overtook it in the 1983 World Cup against Zimbabwe.

There is an ICC Continental Cup match (first class) in progress between Namibia & Kenya. At the moment Gerrie Snyman (Namibia) is 194 not out in a total of 241/8. Must be a good chance of breaking that record for lowest FC score to include a double century.
