Re: Football World Cup - Qatar 2022
Portugal completely dismantled Switzerland 6-1.
So they play Morocco in the Quarters.
So the Quarterfinal line ups are:
Netherlands v Argentina
Croatia v Brazil
England v France
Morocco v Portugal.

Ronaldo dropped to the subs and his replacement ramos scores the
first hattrick and Portugal look like world beaters. Thats a clever
coach.
I think the SFs will be
Brazil vs Argentina
France vs Portugal

Brazil sent packing, it’s anyone’s now.
Croatia could go all the way this time, you really don’t want to face them on penalties.

Just watched the Brazil v Croatia highlights. Croatia had one shot on goal - the late equaliser. Then they clinically won the shootout.
Remarkable.

So Morocco defeat Portugal 1 - 0
They have now played 5 games & only let in one goal & that was an own goal!

Morocco-Croatia final, may as well cut out the goalless 120+ minutes, save us all a few hours and just have the penalties.WideWally wrote:So Morocco defeat Portugal 1 - 0

Re: Football World Cup - Qatar 2022
And it’s going to be a 60-year wait for England. Kane skies a penalty that was for the national goalscoring record, shades of Lineker… his club keeper psyched him out second time around, I guess.
At least we’re good at one sport we invented, thanks to a couple of Kiwis (and an Aussie and a Ciderman, in the slog version).

Looks like the final will be between France v Argentina ... the two teams that beat Australia.

I’m going Croatia-Morocco myself! They both have an unbreakable spirit, no pressure of expectations, and a Germany-like aptitude from the spot.lardbucket wrote:Looks like the final will be between France v Argentina ... the two teams that beat Australia.

Could even be a repeat of last time’s final, don’t think anyone would have picked that at the start.

Croatia won't win - I backed them at 60s early on.

Re: Football World Cup - Qatar 2022
Morocco? I believe they were 250/1 to win it at the start, so maybe 30’s or 40’s to make last four?skully wrote:Geez, what were their odds to make the semis??
They haven’t conceded to an opposition player in 480 minutes of official time. Add in the interminable stoppage time, say another 60 minutes across all the matches… that’s nine hours of football. Plus a penalty shoot-out clean sheet for good measure!
Keeper Bono has them on the Edge of history. It was another beautiful day for Morocco, and I think we can say they have found what they’re looking for

Re: Football World Cup - Qatar 2022
Harry's penalty cock-up was a major howler, but overall he played and led well.
Besides, if the pitchfork set back home become too big a pain in the arse he can always come to Australia, where no matter how many penalties he butchers he'll never be any worse than the country's SECOND biggest clot in sport called Kane

U2 can be a comedian, but now that their next opponents are Les Frogues, is it now time to trot out the lines from Casablanca?

Re: Football World Cup - Qatar 2022
if the final is maroc vs croats it could very long and dull.
its a shame for the WC that 2 of the more exciting teams
brazil and port have gone out to 2 of the dullest.
england lose to the first class side they come up against,
as usual. watching sides endlessly trying to play the ball
out from the back is so tedious. as spain found out
possession isnt everything, you still have to score.

Re: Football World Cup - Qatar 2022
Argies way too strong for Croatia - 3-0.
Very much shaping up as a Argentina v France Final, although Morocco will have something to say about that.

It’s taken Messi 16 years to perform like that at a World Cup.
Man City’s reserve striker not too shabby either.
