Big crowds. Early season form and a few early season injuries. Pies played a very good 4th quarter, Cats phoned in Q4.

Melbourne just as sluggish before a bit of a comeback after that extraordinary failure of a light tower, and blackout. Bizarre conclusion to the match.

Carlton resumes standard ops ...

Home crowd support for Adelaide was always going to test them.

Strange ladder as we get into round 5.

It was the first time a Gawnless Dees had only Grundy to battle a real ruckman.

My mob disgraced the game last night.

Horse does not learn lessons. Put our best midfielder on Hawkins, giving away height and 20kg, while playing a defender Francis on the forward line among various stupidities.

Very happy with the win but very surprised by the margin! Don’t know whether we were just over trained or incredibly rusty for the first three weeks. Sydney cannot be that bad and I don’t think we are that good, though I’d like to believe we’re heading that way.

I made it difficult for myself, anticipating upsets that never happened. Not one! So, 5/9. I’m officially off Fremantle now, even at home, and Essendon can just GAGF. What a pissweak Q4. Ditto North Melbourne, for at least another couple of years, Clarkson just phoning it in for the cash now. Carlton seem to have been worked out now too, at least by the better teams, and definitely I’m on the Saints bandwagon now. Who said Ross Lyon was a shithouse coach?

Collingwood, Saints, Melbourne and Brisbane seem to be well out in front of the other sides at present. My Cats were very slow to start the season although they've finally had some home games and played some weaker teams in the last 5 rounds, and have cashed in. With 5, maybe 6 first choice players currently sidelined (Stanley Stengle JHenry CGuthrie Dangerfield definite first choice alongside injured maybes Bowes and Menegola) they will struggle to match it with the strong teams mentioned, although they should still have the weaker teams covered. With Richmond, Fremantle and GWS fortunately next to come before they have to tackle the Dogs, Port, and Melbourne; it may be that some of these injured players will have recovered by the time these bigger challenges arrive. Go Cats!

My team is providing a lot of comedy. yesterday we kicked 2 goals 11 from set shots as well as not making the distance from 35 metres and booting the hapless ball out on the full into a pie stand.

Our stoic coach admires the Bloods effort and intent
