India has moved to the top of the ICC rankings.
This is important because if the WTC Final is drawn, the Bannies will take the crown.

They should have a Champagne Super-Over or a bowl-out…

they were jumping over us due to the result from the SL-NZ series? or did they dodgy the table standings accordingly?
"Under International Cricket Council rules, series played in the past three months are calculated into overall rankings points with matches in the previous 12 months given 50 per cent more weighting.
It means Australia lose their rankings points from the dominant 2019-20 home summer against New Zealand and Pakistan, while the 4-0 Ashes series win against England in 2021-22 is no longer worth as many points."

Will the “winner” in case of a draw not be the team top of the WTC qualifying standings, as opposed to the ongoing rankings?

Re: Australia v India, WTC Final, The Oval, 7-11 June, 2023
I stand corrected. This article says the following:
"ICC is making every possible effort to make the Test format interesting. The global governing body added a reserve day for the WTC final and it helped New Zealand to win the Championship in the previous cycle. However, even after an added sixth day, the WTC final ends in a draw, then the two teams will be announced joint-winners."

Guess it makes sense that one side isn’t effectively playing for a draw from the start.
I still vote for the bowl-out. Or maybe the T20 finals day mascot race obstacle course.

Meanwhile Mrs GCS has doubled down on Mitch Johnson saying his media career is going downhill.
Mitch's comments on Gcs were actually quite mild and stated the obvious.
What a world!

Fortunately I hear nothing about them other than what is posted here. They don’t make the ABC news, and I don’t have contact with Fox or the local trash outlets. I wouldn’t recognise CW to look at, and when I think about it, am only aware of her lurid past and current shenanigans through you folk.

If a draw means both india and oz are joint winners of the wtc, wheres the incentive to win the match? It sounds like
the antithesis to bazball.
That said i expect oz to win, as india are still without bumrah and pant. oz have been playing well enough without hazel and boland is an excellent sub, and now
green gives them a 5th bowler.

After the dearth of cricket it is great to have real cricket back. Looks like a greentop beckons. Cummins tends to wins most tosses so the Indians could be facing the music first.
