Well done Australia! Deserved champions, in a tourney that actually matters.
Though I wish they’d find a way to make the final a three Test (or two at least) thing. That IMO will get a lot more interest than what feels like a random game between T20 series.

An attritional match, with a sudden spectacular collapse at the end ... like a tug-of-war, where the slightly stronger team eventually triumphs, and the slightly weaker team tumbles.

Yeah, and would largely address the biggest issue of the shared title, which thankfully hasn’t happened yet… in a 3-match series either someone would win or in the unlikely case of three draws or one win each and a draw, a sensible tie-breaker method could be established, that wouldn’t risk one team playing for a draw from the start. As I’ve said before, I’d rather even have a lottery tie-breaker method like a bowl-out than a shared title, but best to avoid the scenario at all where possible.furriner wrote:Well done Australia! Like the old football away goals… though that would require a three-match series with one in each country and one at a neutral venue, which wouldn’t be the best logistically.Nath wrote:Norfolk Ian Goode wrote:Yeah, and would largely address the biggest issue of the shared title, which thankfully hasn’t happened yet… in a 3-match series either someone would win or in the unlikely case of three draws or one win each and a draw, a sensible tie-breaker method could be established, that wouldn’t risk one team playing for a draw from the start. Beating India In this match was good.
Exposing a new generation of Indian players as entitled ignorant whiny sooks - priceless.

Im sure he is suffering at only receiving his share of the $800,000 runners up money

A highlight for me was the misery of the pro Bannie crowd. Boland’s double wicket over just slaughtered them
