The ECB last week announced major home match allocations for upcoming years including the 2027 and 2031 Ashes. Trent Bridge returns after missing out twice in a row, with the Ageas Bowl (Southampton) getting a first Ashes fixture.

”In 2027, England Men will play Tests against Australia at Lord's, The Kia Oval, Edgbaston, Trent Bridge and The Ageas Bowl. In 2031, they contest five Tests at Lord's, The Kia Oval, Emirates Old Trafford, Headingley and Trent Bridge.”

Where was the Test that Monty and Jimmeh survived the last 9 overs or so to Draw? I think Fleas and Ollie North scored tons.

Could've sworn it was the Ageas Bowl. Obviously not.

Nevermind, it was Cardiff.

Jesus, Aus made 4 tons. Fleas 122, Punter 150, North 125* and Haddit 121. We made 6d-674 to Eng's 435, and England were 9-252 at the end of the match (after Jimmeh and Monty survived 11.3 overs).

I believe Monty never played another home Test after that, strangely…

The 2031 lineup looks very traditional ... exactly the same venues (and perhaps sequence) as 1972!

1972 - good times!!! The resurgence of Aus cricket after the mire of 68-71.
