WACA, either MtFTB's world record, or Pidge's 8-24 v Paksters.

As I do. Massie's 16 wickets on debut is at the very fringe of my cricket memory, sitting up as a youngster with my old man listening to John Arlott and Alan McGilvray's commentary on ABC radio.tac wrote:skully wrote:Could argue Bob Massie. The One wrote:lords - murali

IIRC Mush scored a ton in the 1st innings followed it up with a 5 fer then scored a 50 and followed it up with 3 wickets in a huge win.

Wanderers - although I hated it at the time, Atherton.
And PK the grounds in SA are St Georges, Newlands, Kingsmead, Wanderers and the one that you missed, Centurion.
Basic cricket knowledge, really.

Re: Name what you think is the best performance on these venues
Nothing wrong with the Lords wicket in Massie's Test. It was the thick atmosphere that made Fergus deadly in that match. He swung the ball remarkably late. He did it again in another Test in that 72 series for another Michelle before disappearing off the face of the earth, post Ashes 72.The One wrote:skully wrote:Could argue Bob Massie. The One wrote:lords - murali

Re: Name what you think is the best performance on these venues
MCG - either Sobers 254, Kim Hughes & DKL Dec 81, Gary Ablett 89 GF, Betty Cuthbert or Vladamir Kutz 56 Olympics, or the bloke that delivered the punch line in this story (supposedly true):
BILLY GRAHAM (in 1959 I think, addressing crowd of 130,000, the largest ever to assemble at the venue): Truly my friends, alcohol is the course of modern society. And man's dependance on it is completely conditioned, completely unnatural. And I will now demonstrate it to you! If you look to my left, ladies and gentlemen, you will see one of my assistants driving a van onto the arena with two barrels on the back, The red barrel is full of your finest Daylesford spring water. (Cheers) The white barrel is full of Fosters lager. (Raucous cheers). And to my right, you will soon see a donkey being led to the stage. This donkey has not drunk any liquid for two days. (WTF was Hugh Worth when you needed him? - FN) Now let this donkey make the choice, Will he drink the beer or the water? (The donkey approaches the barrels, makes a bee-line for the water barrel and practically empties it without raising its head).
BG: Well. people of Mel-born, there it is. I have just proven that alcohol really is an unnatural substance!
LOUD VOICE FROM FRONT ROW: No, rubbish, all you proved is that really is a donkey!
