Cricketing scandals. Let's see if we can name them all.
Scandals or controversies in the last 15 years or so.
Pakistan:
1. Inzi's oval (Nasty imagery but still).
2. Reverse swing stuff.
3. Asif and Shoaib with dem drugs.
4. Shoaib hits Asif.
England:
1. Pedalo
2. Kirtley's throwing.
India:
1. Bhajji.
2. Sehwag incident in SA.
3. Azharuddin match fixing.
Australia:
1.Bhajji.
2.Warne's drugs.
3. The Pawar pushing incident.
4. Shane's shagging.
South Africa:
1. Gibbs's monkey comment.
2. Cronje match fixing.
Sri Lanka:
1. Murali.
Feel free to add them. It must be said, unless I've forgotten some major ones, England's look pretty tame in comparison to other nations.

The early history of cricket is, from what one reads about it, one long scandal. Look it up, if you care.
There was the Amla terrorist incident if you can call it a scandal.
Also Bhajji is Australian as well as Indian?

Atherton's dirt in pocket: England V SA at Lords 1994 - he was so lucky to hang on to the captaincy.

Bhajji is not guilty, and reverse swing is legitimate, so I assumed that was admissible too.

Err, thanks for the condescension but I did say the last 15 years.
Would Amla count? It was a commentator so you can't attribute it to the Aus side.
The Bhajji incident, rather than Bhajji himself.

There was the test at Sabina Park, which was abandoned after an hour because of the state of the pitch.

Fair enough. I suppose it's still a controversy.

Not sure it was meant as such. You're welcome, anyway.
Well you could call it the 'Amla incident' which like your defined 'Bhajji incident' becomes about a cricket player. Not necessarily attributable to Aus; SA more like.

FFS, there's loads!
Cricket is a right soap opera. In terms of the games to scandals ratio, it's probably worse than football or any other sport.

Stewart was a "heroic" 6 n.o. ( I think) when the game was called off.

England:

2. Kirtley's throwing.
I don't see either of those as scandals or controversies. The Flintoff thing happened on his own time, no-one was hurt, no laws were broken, it was a minor incident that had nothing to do with cricket, and certainly nothing to do with the cricket authorities - to mention it in the same breath as match-fixing and failed drug tests is stupid.
And the Kirtley thing, England played it by the book. He was reported by the umpires, no-one stormed off the pitch or threatened to boycott any series, he went and did the tests and remodelling work, he came back. He then got reported again - once more, no histrionics - and the cycle began once more. A nothing incident.
Athers' dirt-in-the-pocket and Gatting's face-to-face square off with an umpire are more in keeping with the theme.
Re: Cricketing scandals. Let's see if we can name them all.
Now we'll have a 5 page debate between Batman and Zat on the meaning of the word 'scandal', both sides claiming to ignore the other, probably talking through tac.

According to Fletcher it's all Flintoff's fault and the pedalo incident completely ruined everyone's morale and without it we'd have won the thing. That's quite controversial.

What was scandalous about 'pedalo'? Just Fred getting pissed ... can't see anything scandalous with that.

Except the fact that Flintoff may have killed himself, I thought the fredalo thing was pretty much a non-event blown waaaaaaaay out of proportion.

Trying to scapegoat one person for the collective failure of an England side in any sport isn't controversial in the slightest.
It's the default position on defeat.

... and is sometimes a reason for selections
