I guess supporting Derbyshire is like supporting England, but on a smaller scale . . . both are pretty crap and filled with non-local players.

Jeez,
I knew they bad, but 7 uneligibles is a disgrace.
I heard on sky last night that only two members of the team where actuially from Derbyshire, I'm guessing two of the youngsters.

Derbyshire are sh!te. Have been for ages. Not sure it warrants a thread though. They're too much of a non-event.
Re: What is it like being a Derbyshire fan?
But it does warrant a thread on the debate of whether or not Derby fans should consider topping themselves.

Re: What is it like being a Derbyshire fan?
Phurt. 1 season when you know you're doomed to eternity!?
Whereas i've seen my team lift the UEFA Cup, play in the San Siro & get beaten 9-0 at Old Trafford.
Good Times...

Word, but then Derby under Cloughy were a force to be reckoned with. I dunno JKL, an Essex man supporting a Suffolk team!
Re: What is it like being a Derbyshire fan?
Aye, but LLL wasn't even a mere sperm then.
I think that cancels out any retrospective glory...

Oh, agreed. Just that they have done it. It is her local team and they're above either of ours whichever way you look at it. F'k, mine can't even beat schluton.

Seriously, all counties pale in comparison to Kent's awesomeness.
They are the Twenty20 Champions you know.

But only 3 are regular starters in CC.
I bet it's a similar figure for most counties if you look root about in their squads like Lever has.

Yep, agree with LLL.
i'd say half the counties are no better off in that regard than Derbyshire

As has been said, it's bad enough but for supporting Derby County as well. At least supporting Forest and Nottinghamshire, I know one team will generally be succeeding whilst the other wallows away the time under a dour Jock who doesn't know his arse from his hand.

Uhhh, yep. I can totally see why LLL would be jealous of your sh!thouse 1st Div team, who got such a massive rutting from a country bumpkin team that cost less than Forest's toilet paper, whilst poor old Derby are now wallowing in the Premiership, getting pummelled by teams that cost 10 times as much. Ah, lie back and feel the relief.

But then whats the point of employing them if they are not going to play. You may as well just have a load of English youngsters, of which you may actually pick up a couple of good county players. Re-invest the money you get from the ECB into Englisdh cricket?
Same goes for most counties also, it just happens to be Direbyshire which I think are the worst, becasue your so dump!

I think you need to learn to read kiddo - I said Forest are shite in a far less direct way whilst saying Nottinghamshire made up for it. Still, I suppose I'm reading too much into the country bumpkin comment in assuming you are one?
