The world needs a good England side
At least, this forum does.
Australia need a good England side because their 'Poms are sh!t' insults are so true there isn't much of a wind-up possible.
India need a good England side so they can verbally masturbate about 2001, some sort of moral victory in 2004 for some sort of '2nd best' argument.
SA need a good England side so they can play the hard-done-by "Well, we'd probably be second in the world if we could field who we wanted to. Kevin Pietersen's South African don't you know."
Pakistan need a fit and firing Flintoff so they can mention Imran Khan again.... and again.
ATM, you're all looking a bit lost and dumbfounded, just like the English.

Re: The world needs a good England side
Bangladesh need a good England side to test themselves against . . .the current mob would be too easy.

Literally wouldn't fancy us playing Bangladesh at their home ATM.

Sad thing is, I think you're right, Danny. It could get ugly.

Even sadder thing is, it probably wouldn't even be the trademark dobbers that did the damage... it would be the p1sspoor pacemen.
Re: The world needs a good England side
Er, why do we need England for a '2nd best' argument?

Because SA are now clearly 2nd best all on their own.

Because the post-colonial chippiness that many of you display adds some extra spice and vehemence into your sooky argument.

Aww come-on, it's not all that bad for Oz. I'd still put them in ahead of SA, at no. 2.

Not at all. We were embarrassing pathetic, and I'd continue to play on it to win a test series!

The world does not need a good English football side, they're happy enough supporting the present one.
