Juicy odds for the Weagles to beat the Roos...considering they haven't beaten us since 2004, may be worth a pineapple.

laughing @zimmy...i'd like a piece of that pineapple...north to romp it in front of two dogs and a fruit bat at what will be the lowest attended match this century.

Re: AFL 2008 thread
COLLINGWOOD - will cream St Kilda in the battle of the under-performed versus the over-rated
HAWTHORN - can expect a fright along the way
GEELONG - Tiges have improved but not THAT much
BRISBANE - Brown will see to it - Carlton have nobody who can stop him, but should stay competitive for three quarters
ROOS - Until this year, hardly anybody had beaten the turkeys since 2004
ADDLEDVILLE - possible triple-figure margin here
SWANS - Essendon in disarray. Horsebreath (their Pres) taking over the Elliott-McAllister role
BULLDOGS - to easily beat the second worst team in WA

Agree ...but I think that the Saints are both over rated and under performing
Buddy to be the difference
Only danger is that Matthews doesn't have a tag for Judd ...and WC had a good record vs BL mainly because of that lack of match up
Toast are as bad as non-Toast fans think they are
Melbourne's bubble to be burst ...a hundred point margin unlikely as the Cows are a defence first team
Bloods ...only interest is how a score at all costs team goes against a defend at all costs team
Freo ... after a fortnight of being told they are a joke and their coach cant handle the media they will be fired up and they will play enough of a game to hold off the Bulldogs who will come home strong after being jumped early

embee - what are your thoughts on the Vics v the rest thing last weekend. Sounds like it was a huge winner. Playing it each 4 years sounds about right to me.

TBH that's how it needs to be treated and developed - pinnacle of the game, held infrequently, blah blah etc.

Mixed emotions on the whole thing ...a good idea but not necessarily a good thing
Prefer State of Origin in it's truest form ...but thats memories of the mid 80's WA vs Vic games on a Tuesday ...and about half the WA team were WAFL players
Having 3 strong states and then a lot of great players not from those states makes SOO hard to organise ...the Allies were OK as a concept but in reality you either want to be playing for the big V or against it...even WA vs SA does nothing for me as a game ...
Dream team worked OK this year but I would have thought the Vics would have got a hammering two years ago when Freo , West Coast , Sydney and Adelaide were the top 4 teams ...and Brisbane and Port were just coming off premierships ...
Personally I'd scrap the IR games and play a SOO or Dream Team series after the Finals ...doubt it will happen

Thanks mate. A quick btw - I hear there's a strong chance the international rules thing will be reintroduced.

Great game today Nath. Things looked shaky early (30 point deficit at the end of the 1st term) but your boys' second half was outstanding. Already looking to be a Hawks v Cats Granny.

Big win to the swans.
I have a feeling that the idiotic draw against the Roos and the wasteful 1 point loss to the Saints is going to cost them a top 4 spot this year.
