Re: English county season 2008 (II)
Derbyshire have Yorkshire 54-4 off 21 overs.
Take that Trueman, you bitter, arrogant, shit-tip.
Langevedlt - 2/10 off 6 overs. And you scoffed when I said he was going to be class in English cricket.

Actually, he probably scoffed because Langeveldt is another spongeing Saffie kolpaker expoloiting the all round shiteness of Direbyshire....

No, I was there you see. He whinged because I was bigging Langevedlt up for the coming season.
Turns out I was right. 9 wickets at 20 in the championship and 10 wickets at 14 in List A.
Averaging 32 with the bat in CC too. I don't see how he's sponging when he's one of the best bowlers in the second division and other young English batsman are having to face him.

Anyone going along to any of these, weather permitting, tomorrow?
Hopefully off to Trent Bridge for the Ireland game with a mate from Sheffield, and probably the old man and one or two other more local friends.
I really hope it's on, just had a text from said Sheffield pal informing me that his latest crazy pursuit* is The 366 Club, 366 days this year, and 366 different pubs to visit, and he wants to use tomorrow as a boost to his total if the cricket's not on . . . groan, work on Tuesday could be fun.
* - A few years ago we had each other zig-zagging across the country to all sorts of diabolical non-league footballing outposts as we attempted to have the highest aggregate of total grounds in Europe visited at the end of the season. I think Level 9 of the pyramid was the cut off point, but even so the worst game I went to was a 0-0 draw on a wet Tuesday night, a 50+ mile round trip, along with 46 other hardy souls.

Yup, I'm not a big fan of T20 on TV. But they are great fun live.

Pears beat Glamorgan, but it looks like we have to beat Glos AND someone has to beat Somerset for us to get through to the q/finals.

'Bitter'? Yes. 'Shit-tip'? Yes. 'Arrogant'? Never. Another time, another place, maybe, but not here.
Anyway, what did Yorkshires dismal 54-4 off 21 overs get you? One point, that's what it got you, the same one point as what we got. Congratulations.

The fact that you're virtually celebrating a washout says it all.

Phew!
Sounds odd, but it was the most comfortable 1 run victory I've ever seen.
Apart from the opening burst from Rampaul, a decent opening stand when they batted and a brief spell about 8 overs from the end when the RRR came down to 7.43 they were never really in the game.
Each time they failed to press home their apparent advantage and Notts were soon back in control.
I suppose the fact that they went into the final ball with a chance of the win - O'Brien needed to clear the ropes - makes a mockery of my assertion, however - but that was how I saw it at the time.
Very strange game and bleedin' freezing!

Interesting stat on Ask Steven this week - Stewart Law has the most First Class centuries without having scored a Test ton - with 78.

F*ck. We're getting rolled by l'Ireland at the moment. 168/8 - we've a cracking batting line-up too... batting down to 10. Mental. Obvo a good bowling pitch, but still...
