You don't feel safe unless you've got 500 first up at Lord's.
By the way, Direby can keep their grubby little mits away from Stephen Moore thank you very much!

Essex 59 for 5. Tendustcart 21 n.o. 15 wickets in the day - cue the pitch inspectors then.

77-7
2 for SiJo.
New Road, always the same then - just like 1989 when you continually produce greenies

The pitch I saw agaist Glos. had pace and bounce and precious little sideways movement. It's been quite muggy today - so, the balls probably been hooping round corners.

Apparently, we called the pitch inspectors in - the water table is apparently, one inch below the playing surface!

Yes, and in an desperate attempt to keep it at one inch Martin Price plans to ban players from spitting.

I have a sinking feeling you might get your way, there's been the odd comment on our supporters forum about the pitch. But if the bounce was even, I don't think we should be punished.

Do you have a particular problem with Martin Price?

No, not really. It's just that his and Mark Newtons stance during last summers point deduction debacle still irks me somewhat.
Anyway, must dash, sun's cracking t'flags and Headingley beckons. Looking at the weather I would have fancied us to get a few today had Rashid been at the crease with Bresnan, but he isn't so I'll probably be spending most of the day watching those darn Lancastrians piling up the runs against our depleted bowling attack. Bugger!

I know what you mean - SiJo is heading in the right direction.
The weather is a lot brighter today, but I think batting is still going to be a difficult proposition.

So far so good for GT, 'Little' Timmy seems to be keeping the strike.

I know what you mean. The agony of masochism, admixed with lashings of patriotic pride.
I didn't know you were a POV, JK!

D'ohhhhh.
Sutty gives his wicket away. Is he a "homer"? (Or perhaps just not very good...?)
Ange - what's this Headingley Carnegie?? :?:

Joe Denly is having a shocking 2nd full season. Out for 0 to Shane Bond
Talking of shocking, Tremmors is actually on the field.

It's deal YCCC and the rugby teams have done with Carnegie Uni. The Uni gave them money for ground improvements etc, as a result the uni can use the facilities and get their name in the ground's title and for the one day team's name.
