Leicestershire are right royally fooked!
Interesting...
http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/england/content/current/story/352890.html
So, what I want to know is who will be doing the appealing?
Whichever county is lobbying against this needs their funding cut pronto...
I guess each county will now be limited to 1 or 2 kolpaks.

but it is more than likely that there will be appeals lodged if the rules are amended in the ECB's favour.

fixed!
Nah bother JK. Just good to hear really! Can see it taking ages for anything to happen.
I also expect their to be the actual Kolpakers appealing as opposed to the actual counties!!

Aye. We'd lose Thunderfart, Andrew Hall, Nicky Boje, Zulu and Johann Louw... though I've heard that Lancie is nearly a citizen and Louw isn't far off. TBF we haven't any gashlords, so it'd be a gigantic blow.
Would be nice in a way though. It'd stop half a dozen whingey, snivelling, close-to-tears, quntish load of myopic pieces of shit doing nothing more than getting their whinging-boards out without debate.
Re: Leicestershire are right royally fooked!
Out of those three counties, Northants do appear to have the best junior syestem.

You wouldn't lose all of them.
It just means that no side can pack their team with them.

And the best quality Kolpaks as well to be fair!
I've always said I don't mind quality Kolpaks. They increase the standard to a point.
But people like Telo, Nannes, Botha etc... They should be fooked off with a big baseball bat as far as I'm concerned!

3rd best academy in the country.
Re: Leicestershire are right royally fooked!
And thats the problem, it's all well and good saying 'yeah but look at the quality of Nhants' and I agree with that - but there's no quality threshold system in place so it means we're flooded with dross.

Yeah agreed - they're spot on. But I can see both sides. Zulu is no doubt keeping Mark Nelson out, Boje is keeping Graeme White out. Still, Louw, Hall and VdW are keeping out Lucas, Logan and Wigley!!! TAYPOC x100!!!!!!! Crook should be in the team when he's fit. Fragile body, like a few other strong, strapping lads. Shame, he smacks the ball and bowls near 90.holcs wrote:

Who has the best? I guess Yorkshire followed by Lancashire or maybe Durham?

Dunno, read it in Wisden. Not sure what it was alluding to anyway... facilities, youth training... I really don't know. We do seem to produce a fair amount of Eng U19s and younger representative cricket. I'd say all three really, the amount of actual First Teamers they produce.

Exactly. Which means hopefully with there only being say 2 allowed. It means that those 6 say, will be evenly distributed through to other counties who have dross hopefully!
Which is ideal really IMO.
More room for English players, and a little better standard overall?!

I don't actually see the problem with Kolpaks. As long as they are decent ones.

That's illogical. Why bring in a Kolpak if they are going to weaken the team.

Because it's easier to have a ready made player than produce your own?

Cost about half what an English player of equal ability would cost.

Capped county player Circa £40K-60K
Kolpaker more like £30K

OK. Say you have a decent seamer... Alan Richardson or something, he'd cost about twice as much as Van der Wath - who, say, is of equal ability.
