it's not the age, it's the attitude and 95% haven't got it.
Isn't there a bit of a contradiction there?
"can be", maybe?

Re: Under Age Laws
That's exactly WHY I gave up being a TA. Even at the tender age of 4 and a half the kids know you can't really do anything about their bad behaviour, except send them to the head teacher. There's NO respect left at all. I couldn't believe their terrible attitudes to adults at such a young age.Brass Monkey wrote:Kids're little qunts. Some little'uns were let into my local, too boistrous. Don't know how to behave. At that age, I'd been out and about for 3 years - it's not the age, it's the attitude and 95% haven't got it.

Yeah, soz, I said that. I meant the attitude wasn't a concious thing. Not any detriment to them as such, just that they're keen in a festive way they wouldn't be at a different age.

I half or more know what you're saying. Even kids a couple of years below me are absolute shits like you wouldn't believe
Re: Under Age Laws
I understand the principle but it's bloomin' annoying when you forget ID. I once got away with it because I hadn't shaved for weeks and stooped a little.

Re: Under Age Laws
So what's the solution then?Winkle Spinner wrote:Like that'll do any good. Fake IDs are so easy to get. So are friends who are 18. If they want to get drinking of the streets, let 16 year olds into pubs. Only pubs for 16 year olds, obviously, we don't want them being obnoxious in our pubs. But trying to stop it just isn't going to work.
My 16 year old, shortly to be 17 at the end of this month, is getting into the swing of going to the beach with his mates on a Friday night now, where one of the mums regularly buys one of them a whole load of cans and bottles of cider and they have a kitty. What can be done about that?

Re: Under Age Laws
Teach him to drink sensibly, have respect and not to go OTT.
I did that at 16 and my mum threw my stereo out of the window.
That learned me so it did.

I'm not sure anything should, really. As long as they're out of the way, I'm all for getting drunk at 16 and 17 and having a laugh. How the hell else are you supposed to talk to girls?

Funnily enough....I went on my son's Bebo account and discovered he's got the hots for a girl called Daisy. There's a photo of her and she's got a piercing under her bottom lip.Winkle Spinner wrote:I'm not sure anything should, really. It might be a poor reflection on your boy if she hadn't changed.

Yes, I told him about the expression "pacing yourself" just after he'd thrown up on the way home after the first session.JKLever wrote:Teach him to drink sensibly, have respect and not to go OTT.
