BCCI in hypocrisy shock

In my morning paper it has been reported that the BCCI is organising a get togther of the 1983 WC squad in London, despite the fact that a number of them are involved with the ICL and therefore banned from associating with official cricket.

And I think their pensions also have been cancelled.

But are invited to an official party?

Someone has to serve the drinks

they are trying to build bridges with ICL .. since they predict it's not competition anymore after IPL.

I would still congratulate ICL for helping break BCCI out of its deathly stupor

The ICL members were not given invitations. The whole WC winning squad hovever planned to celebrate it at the Club restuarant at Lords in a party to be hosted by Gavaskar and are not keen to celebrate it with BCCI exclusively.

This will end in another egg on BCCI face whichever way it plays out.

If all ex-players of that squad snub BCCI and go to Lords, it will be an egg.

If half the invited members attend it will be a farce.

If all the members [ICL managers included] are invited and attend, it will mean a humiliation for BCCI ego having to eat humble pie.

Whatever the end result, it will be good.

the bcci is not organising it. sunny and kapil are

There is some confusion no doubt. Some time back there were reports of Gavaskar holding a bash at Lords. Now there are reports of Gavaskar and Kapil being honoured by BCCI and Vijay Mallaya without any reference of the rest of the team. BCCI plays some strange games.....

do you have a link for the paper that says the bcci is organising it? i saw kapil on the telly sometime last month saying it was organised by sunny and him and has nothing to do with the bcci

cant see a world cup 83 celebration without kapil, and cant see him invited by the bcci, so..

In breaking news, RD is suing BCCI for their incompetent organisation of his sex life.

BCCI has decided to hold an event in Delhi where all players including Kapil Dev will be invited whereas Sunil Gavaskar will hold the event at Lords were all the players and the office bearers of BCCI will be invited.

Hypocricy is an understatement.
