Interesting fact of the day:
With 25 wickets at 21, Steve Harmison has been one of the best bowlers in either division of the championship this season.

Oh no. Mahmood's taken a 5-for. Someone needs to tell Dello three of them were tailenders and that he was pretty expensive otherwise there's going to be some sort of weird, forum sex explosion later.

Re: English county season 2008 (IV)
Anyone know anything about Somerset's 23 year old leggie, Mike Munday? 74 wickets at 26.79 in first class cricket.
Compared to Rashid:
Not bad numbers for a rookie. Obviously Rashid's three years younger (and yet more experienced at first class level).
There's all sorts of fun to be had with his name if he ever plays for England. If he's dropped "Tell me why, they don't like Munday?". "Munday takes control on Monday".Alliteration "Magnificent Munday murders middle order". And so on...
Anyway, Munday's currently being tonked a bit by Kallis and co.
Compared to Rashid:
Munday - 25 games, 74 wickets @ 26.79, economy 3.79, sr 42
Rashid - 33 games, 89 wickets @ 38.08, economy 3.58, sr 63

Vaughan and Collingwood will be unavailable for their counties' respective Friends Provident Trophy semi-finals next week but Cook and Bopara can both play for Essex against Yorkshire in the competition.

We're also talking Essex. At this level he's better than everyone else we have apart from Bop.

Derbyshire throwing this one away again. At least I subbed Ten Doeschate into my fantasy side. Softens the blow slightly.
In other "LLL's fantasy team" news, I subbed Batty out and he gets a score and I sub Clare in and it looks like he's injured. Gah!

Sajiddius Mahmoodius taking the Sussex Peters to the cleaners.
And Essex are giving Chambers a chance after doing well in the T20s - so perhaps they do serve a purpose (T20s, not Essex).
Oh, and re: Mike Munday's FC record. He's taken about 12 FC wickets for Somerset. The rest of his performances came for Oxford University, where he played for three years.
Some say he's promising - last time I saw him he looked horrible. Like a deformed medium-pacer.

Took 8-fer for Somerset at the back end of last season.
Better than Rashid anyway.

And ...
in time-honoured fashion, Lancs batting follows up the advantage gained by the bowlers by folding like a bad souffle' in a storm. In this case to Jason and his Moorgoonauts.

It's not a failure of the nuts. It's a failure of the wits.

Aye, very tempting. But will PeterSussex's eyes stray beyond the chosen few.
After all, Jonah was a Feltch pick .. long before Moore's arrived to pollute the team.
Jonah -
Played 5 games this season, third 5 wicket haul, 24 wickets in the CC at 10.54.
(Albeit in Div 2 ..!!)
Still, quite remarkable stats given his injury plagued past 2 years.
Wish him well ... the guy's certainly earning his corn at the deadly dull Worcs!!
His real test will come when Worc meet the Sexies!

Aye, wives tale. Was a bit of a trundler in the U19's game I saw.
Not according to a good friend at Surrey, and a mate of mine who was unlucky enough to face a few from him in a club match. He is seriously quick I am told!
