Bugger .....
Can't prise out the last wicket.
Damn.
This might just return to haunt Middlesex at season's close.

Good match for Rashid. 7 wickets. Almost doubled his season tally in one game.

Regrets, Merls.
The umps kept adding an over ... but no last wicket for your bowlers.

Cheers Pete ...
How do they phrase it in football parlance ...?
"I'm gutted I tell ya, totally gutted.
Shoulda had them at tea time, they just kept givin' their wickets away ...
Fair do's to them though ... those last two.
They held on for the draw ...
But I'm gutted ... sick as a parrot ... gonna get bladdered ... "
Ah, that feels better!!
Really felt we could close the gap on Warwicks with this game in hand.
Oh well ...

Glamorgan are to take Yorkshire's place in the Twenty20. An odd turn of events but a gimme for Durham.
Seems an odd stance from the ECB. Yorkshire go for an appeal, lose, yet an apparently irrelevant party comes out as winner and the party who looked set to win if Yorkshire lost has actually lost as much as Yorkshire themselves.
Not that I'm bothered - great news. The club will be fuming though, I'm sure.

Re: English county season 2008 (IV)
Everyone's lost out here apart from Glamorgan - Notts were back in the competition and now have had it taken away, Yorkshire "won" their appeal but it didn't reinstate them into the competition, Durham still have an unwanted extra game that doesn't fit in well with their schedule.
I fully expect Glamorgan to beat Durham, they've got nothing to lose whereas Durham will still be angry about being messed about and have to squeeze in this game with possible extra travelling and the likely unavailability of a couple of players. They won't be in the right frame of mind for it, and the team that gets a lucky reprieve often seems to go on and win the whole thing!
Not the ECB's finest hour, anyway. Given the stakes now involved, they've spent a week or so messing around with the financial futures of four counties.

The whole Notts and then Glamorgan ruling with regards to Rafiq is just frankly bizarre.
They appoint a load of Lancastrians to sit on the panel who promptly chuck Yorkshire out and fine us. Then a new panel is set up in the south west (which is quite close to Glamorgan) and Glamorgan are handed a bye into the quarters at the expense of Yorks / Notts.

What we need now is Tom to get together with a few of his pals, disqualify Glam and instate Surrey.

Maybe the ICC can instate Pakistan instead.
Asif to play after an appeal.

Langer got 50 today - makes him only the 3rd Aussie to score 27000 FC runs and he's now 80 odd runs behind Border and just over 1000 behind Bradman.

Wouldn't be difficult - Tony senior was a very pawky player IIRC.
