Is Chris Simpson the worst player to ever captain an Aussie state side? I guess that guy Adcock who led South Australia a couple of seasons back must be close. Simpson's stats for a first class batsman are awful.

Yes we would but off-spin on our pitches has never been super threatening. Mallett who was probably our best of the modern era struggled to bowl teams out. I still recall one Adelaide test which was given the spinners assistance. Greg Chappell started bowling leggies that he bowled in his youth and turned the ball much more. He still didn't get a wicket but at least he spun the ball.

Tim May was average.
