Onomatopoiea is spelling a word the way it sounds. Like 'quack', 'woof' or 'moo'.
Don't know what the word is for what Fred describes.

I always thought 'spiv'' was a close second to 'curmudgeonly'.

"onomatopoeia?"
Yep, that rings big bells MB,
"I always thought CURMUDGEONLY was the best example of those sort of words."
'Cantankerous' isn't bad either. By strange co-incidence either of them fit Horrie....

Since you have bits of both in you, you are probably the best qualified to answer that one

just an average effort from the Vix..Tonic continued his useful form and that was about it for the Vix

aah...finally some understanding...curmudgeon and cantankerous are apt descriptions of myself...but then again I have age as an excuse

spiv is something different ... a slithering RD mouthed bogan that slides around luxuriating in a persona that is somewhat lacking...ie spiv=a packer=a nawab

I'll wear curmudgeonly, though cantankerous and irrational(curmudgeonly's meaning) is best applied to horrie, but I won't wear spiv.
'Chip' or 'Billy' I'll wear with pride as they were the products of the feverous imagination of Mexicans bludging off our abundant mineral wealth and drive, as well as jealousy at our rather large reproductive organs.
Talking about rather large (sloppy female) reproductive organs. How's Ippy?

So who would you trade for? Askin, Lewis, Iemma or Tubby?
FWIW, get back to TI. As far as I'm concerned you could draw a semi-circular line from the coast just south of Gympie to the NSW border just west of Twin Towns and let the rest of the country fight over it's rancid spoils. I'd even be in favour of offering NSW financial incentives to take the blood sucking SE off our hands.

oddly enough...Natimuk is one of the few rural hamlets growing in population...has become a lefty artsy rock climbing community....hansen effigies would be regularly torched there

Oh dear Horrie.
Try WA SA TAS for gene pools deficiencies but Qld is not lacking with refugees flooding the place for thirty years or more.

Immigration has increased exponentially every year and will overtake Victoria by 2020.
Oceanics and Asians are flooding in according to my sisters. They hate the cold.
