In Aus, points are also deducted for slow over rates. Has been an excellent incentive to have the players rocketing through their overs.

Ditto over here - the deduction is not punitive though. Worcs. were deducted two points in the game just finished against Warwickshire.

"Not punitive"? Meaning they can't effect the team's position in the table?

Aye deducting 2 points when you can get 22 is pointless.
Deducting 2 from a max of 8 would mean more...

In Aus, the points deducted count, and can mean the difference between a spot in the Final and not.

No points for a draw would massively favour the southern sides.

Re: English county season 2008 (VI)
ICL looking to have a world cup in april could contain some english county cricketers, for a 20/20 cup.
ECB said it will ban ICL english players from now on.
Will have big effect on county cricket next year i guess, a few old names missing.

Everywhere else rained off!
Looks like it's a straight fight between Essex,Kent & the Yorkies for promotion from Div 2 if the Yorkies can win their game in hand.

Trent Bridge will have the same drainage system at Lord's from next season.
That idea about draws in the CC, JKL . . . I'm coming round to it maybe!

Jefferson finds yet another way of getting himself out just as he gets in.
WI Jefferson run out 22
So talented, but so flaky.

Tell me about it!!
As for the drainage - if our weather continues like this you can see quite a few sides having to install those drainage systems - infact for our test grounds it should be a requirement

Notts 180ao off the last ball of their 40.
Well short of what looked possible after 5 overs, but not a bad effort considering the shambles that followed!

Middx's batting looks ridiculously strong yet they never seem to put it together as a unit.
