Bit hard to like either man. Faldo seems a surly bastard and Azinger comes across as a spoilt brat and has for years. No doubt if the seppos lose he'll blame evryone and evrything except God and himself.

Definitely a great sporting event. Team matchplay golf is the sport at its best.

And it must be remembered that the worst of enemies become best buddies when united against a common enemy... in this case the Seppos!

The Yanks still don't think they did anything wrong in 1999 when they trampled all over Olazabal's line.

Funnilly enough, when the Ryder Cup was a dud event involving America thrashing Britain every two years Peter Thompson suggested it become America v the Commonwealth.

Evenutally they decided to team up with Europe instead -- ah, what could have been!
