Ind v Pak, T20 WC FINAL, Johannesburg, 24th Sept
12:00 GMT.
Why not a night-time kick off? That's where the best atmosphere is at, I reckon.

India is doomed.
They have been 'fixed' to lose.
Doooooooooooooooooooooooomed is the word.

How excited are you chaps? Apparently (so I read on another forum) Pak / India have not met in a 'final' since Melbourne in the '80s.
Do you think, that, whenever Pakistan or India tour England, the other should come along and participate in a triangular here? I don't ever remember this combination (though, do recall an England/Australia/Pakistan ODI triangular tournament in 2001).
Edit 80's (for 90's)

Someone's posted this mock-up news report on another forum:
CRICINFO HEADLINES TUESDAY MORNING
If India win = INDIA ROMP PAST AUSSIES IN THE SEMIS AND MINNOWS
PAKISTAN IN THE FINAL AND ARE CROWNED UNDISPUTED CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD
IN CRICKET, HOCKEY AND FOOTBALL!!
If Pakistan win = pakistan edge win in micky mouse cup, but still a long way behind the Aussies.

I'd guess it's a daytime start to allow the most opportunity for the game to finish without recourse to D/L or a bowl-out.Dello wrote:12:00 GMT.

But surely today's Yuvi batting will have caused tendonitis in his left-elbow again, no? Sorry, not nice - wish Afridi'd do a Yuvraj!

I have long thought that there should be a triangular tournament between England, India and Pakistan in this country. Sadly, it no longer looks possible now that 3 way ODI series have been abandoned.

I am sure that India can handle Afridi's bowling, but Umar Gul could be a problem with those Yorkers.
I know that Agarkar has been expensive with the new ball and powerplay field settings, but he seems to be better with the older one in his second spell, So Dhoni should try and do what Pak do with Gul; use Agarkar at the death with more flexible fields.
India for me, I think.

Re: Ind v Pak, T20 WC FINAL, Johannesburg, 24th Sept
there is a lot of rumor going around here that the final is 'fixed' in favor of pakistan. And i am not doing a woof here, i'm serious.
THough it is a bit tough to digest for those Indians who had a hard fought semi-final with Oz but the final could be 'fixed' with the huge revenues and interest generated leading to big numbers in bookie market shared by ICC/BCCI mafia.
Cricket inspite of T20 remains the most corrupted game in International sports, and there is no way anyone can wipe off match-fixing from this sport.

You have got very strange theories buck, why can't India or Pakistan lose without a small minority of their fans calling it a fix? is defeat really that hard to take?
At the end of the day it's only a game, i'm happy we even got to the final so whatever happens on sunday is a bonus for me, just hope the best team on the day wins.

I'm getting a recurring theme here with *bucka*'s posts. I reckon that he/she/it is either a) a multi-millionaire with links to the Asian betting markets, or b) a blithering idiot. I'll leave it for you lot to decide which.
Re: Ind v Pak, T20 WC FINAL, Johannesburg, 24th Sept
Or he/she could be a blithering idiot with links to the Asian betting markets?
Sorry bucks, couldn't resist.

What's the feeling 'on the ground' Indian fans? Are expectations as high as such that Dhoni could see his home pelted/bombed if India lose to Pakistan? Would India have preferred a team other than Pakistan in the final?
Personally, prefer Pakistan to whack the neighbours in the Tests, hope it's a close match tomorrow, with lots of fun.
