Man, what an ascension that would be. From struggling to retain his spot in the XI to the Aus Capt. Go Fleas. Very Happy

Well we all know that Spanky has wanted Katich as captain since January.

Pinting may well do a "Vaughan" if Aus lose this series and announce that he's stepping down in order to get the most out of his batting in the Autumn of his career.

IMO, for the first two years in Test cricket he was all at sea against a fresh cherry. Or any non-shit fast bowling.

It's been interesting to note that Clarke has become a shotless crab in the last year.

Whoever (if anyone) replaces Ponting, he'll still not have Warne, McGrath and Gilchrist back. Laughing

In line with your suggestion I propose that Horrie be henceforth known as Gimlet (ie a boring tool).

phurt @ zog and the hack formulaic maloney/nerk writer..ponting is the best available captian...lardy's selection of fleas smacks of an english - let's appoint mike brearley - strategy...

the reality is this team is not performing because of the captain but simply because it is not terribly good...it has an ancient opening the batting with a crab who has lost tests for Oz in the past, an immature no 5 who throws away starts going for the premature bingle shot, an all rounder whose major attributes are ads, fishing, alcohol consumption and throwing his wicket away to bowlers worse than krazy, a spearhead 'fast' bowler perennialy selected on a sponsors exemption and abiove all a cretinous NSP that refuses to select players on form...

instead of Lardy disappointing "tory" proposals - lets try

hughes in for haydos
rogers as his partner
punter
fleas
hussey
north
haddin
watto
krazy
midge
hilf

the kid needs his tail booted for being profligate and a spell in dubberville may help remind him his job is make big tons and not just sparkling 50s..

symonds needs to go on fishing leave, with the big unit for company...bung needs to try and find away of moving the ball or holding up an end with the spivs, siddle needs extended bowling at shield level

Wish the Australian selectors had followed my advice ...

Also, had forgotten Fred's 'gimlet' for Horrie.

The key question remains....is Sniffy2 up for the job? Should he do the Kim Hughes?
