It doesn't have much to beat from an Aussie cricket fan's perspective.

What I'm looking at
http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR661.loop.shtml#skip
indicates we will run out of heavy rain about 90 minutes from now.

"It could be an interesting competition this year."
I predict the Reds will be dire.

Speaking of Ugby, are the Ndungane twins identical (ie monozygotic)?

Looks like it'll stop. Then start again.
I'm off to find beer and a big TV for the Rugby. Perhaps a pub will help in that regard.

Can't they do the toss now so that when play can start, play actually _starts_?

No Deans, no Carter does open it up considerably.
The Lions & the Cheetahs to be 13 & 14. That's as brave as I get except to say that the Waratahs & the Highlanders will be the worst of the Aussie & Unzud franchises respectively.

The non-rain appears to have reached Somerset Dam, some 60km from the Gabba, and moving at 50km/h towards the Gabba. With luck, the precipitation will stop persisting down at the match ground by 5:30pm AEST, and with minimal faffing around play could start by 6:15pm, which is the necessary cut-off (5 hrs after scheduled commencement.)

That's the beauty of a new season ........ hope!
Who do you think will be the best of your provinces? I'm looking forward to the Stormers/Sharks game - should be one of the highlights of the season.

Sharks should be there or thereabout.
Not sure how well the Bulls will travel.
Stormers could struggle in the aftermath of the Luke Watson affair.

Never understood that one at all. Surely they just get on, play well & strive for a green jumper don't they?

He told a public gathering that he nearly puked the first time he pulled on the green jersey with a Springbok on. He is already being booed by the Newlands faithfull. Gawd alone knows what will happen when he runs on at Loftus.

Cricinfo sez:
5.32 pm QLD: Great news guys! We finally have a game! The toss is expected to be held in around 15 minutes, and the game will start at 6.15 pm QLD time. We are still awaiting the details pertaining to how many overs each side will have to bat, and we'll have them for you as soon as we hear something from Brisbane. Lets just hope there isn't another shower

Jebus, it could be a mudathon in the outfield. Might be funny to watch.

A mud T20, there's a thought.
All we need now are a few chicks in bikinis.
