There are far better judges in Pak team to weigh in their chances of whether to go for a win or not.
Who's showing false bravado? Smith set Australia a gettable target in 2005/06 in order to try and draw the series. Australia got the runs and the Saffies lost 2-0, but Smith was roundly applauded by all for giving it a go. Any person would expect a team to try and win in the situation the 'stanis are in today. Sure, if they lose 2 or 3 quick wickets, shut up shop, but at least give it a go. You seem to want your team not to try?
Jeez, I am beginning to think you are a closet Smith fan.

Well it was a good declaration, just that Haydos and Punter absolutley mulleted the Saffie bowlers.

Younis and Yousuf batting for their averages with a test to be won and a series saved.

Aye taccy - madness but not unexpected.
Having said that, if Pak hold off for a draw with a few overs to go, Kalllis should get his arse kicked for his pathetic batting yesterday.

Yeah, but the Saffies didn't need to win, just use up time. And there's noone better at slow runs than Jacquie baby.

Still - if the Safs were going to declare anyway they may as well have had as many runs on the board as possible or given themselves more time. They did have 5 wickets in hand after all.
Oh well, all set up for an Inzi special in his last innings.

You can't expect Kallis to give up his red ink for the team.

Stupid comment. A lead of 450 and over 4 sessions would win most matches.

Aye - he didn't do it in the SCG match where Smith declared and they needed to win to save the series so you wouldn't expect it here.

But a lead of 500 and over 4 and half sessions would win more.
