Re: The US Masters
A couple of folk mentioned overhead shots from the blimp.
Last week at the Houston Open they used the blimp a couple of times to track tee shots from overhead. In general terms it was a terrific innovation but suffered in each instance I saw from being a little too close and therefore there was no perspective. I can imagine this being used to track the shape of the shot around a bend in the fairway or some hazard.

It certainly would have been interesting to see how much Mickelson had to bend the ball to get it around a tree and land 2 foot from the cup.

Re the blimp, I think the Augusta CC either doesn't allow, or severely restrictc use during the Masters. Can't find a reference to it though.
If true, they'd be as precious as someone unhappy with Google street view taking a picture of their house.

Whilst they have to allow a minimal amount of TV advertising they don't allow anything else. No sponsor's (not that it has sponsor's) or branded marquee's on course and even the food outlets aren't allow to push branded products.
I imagine a big Goodyear sign in the sky would definately be a no-no.

So get the logo painted over for the week, hire the aircraft & lift the standard. Mastery of the sports broadcast "art form"?

During the Sydney Olympics Goodyear weren't allowed to have their name on the blimp - so they kept the same colours and fonts but changed the text to "G'Day" and "Good Luck".
It worked a treat.
