Bung and MacDill's updated combined figures - 3/401 off 95 overs.
Match will probably be called off once Homer reaches his ton or gets out.

Bung and MacDill's updated combined figures - 3/401 off 95 overs.
Add to that Johnson's 0/134. So combined fogures of 3/535 for 75% of Australia's likely test attack.

'senior bowler' Bung is losing the plot:
Over 81.3: Lee to Noffke, FOUR, defended back to the bowler who hurls the ball at the non-strikers end and four overthrows results
Over 81.2: Lee to Noffke, FOUR, hammered through extra cover
Over 81.2: Lee to Noffke, (wide) five runs, way over the keepers head

That's what happens when the best meets the best on a flat track.

Well he has already shown in his brief test career that he's the best we've got.

Another spineless Victorian batting effort! See, I told you it was a mistake to extend Shippy's contract!

Certainly he is our best fast bowler in tests ATM.
Johnson and Lee worry me if the ball isn't swinging.
Johnson may have pulled the plug as some bowlers do when they are getting carted. The Brisbane test may suit him better he bowls well there.
Lee has no cricketing brain likewise Tait.

Pretty decent recovery from the Sozzies. Currently 7 for almost 300 after being 6/92

It will be interesting to see if the Inside Cricket panel will reverse their assumptions that MacGill will still be the spinner for the first test.
Fox 7.30 tonight.
I will pass on any interesting goss. Watch this sandpit.

Inside Cricket.
BJ AB and Damien Fleming's comments.
Opening bat all agreed Jaques could pack his bags. Fleming made the valid point that he was in the Langer mold fast scoring and a good partner for Hayden.
Spinner.
Big turn around from last week Border recognising Hogg had a chance. Fleming insisted MacGill lifts his game when playing for Australia as he did in '98/'99 and was more likely to run "through" the Sri Lankans on the fifth day.
Border finally agreed and BJ looked completely nonplussed by Fleming's logic.
Fast bowlers.
All agreed on Lee and Clark and blamed the track for the lack of success in Sydney plus the fact that they were short of a gallop in the longer form of the game.
Johnson would scrape in provided Tait or Hilfenhaus didn't collect a bag of wickets in Tassie next game.
Fleming also threw in Noffke if they play four fast bowlers.

At least Clark took some wickets! WTF did Lee do (aside from looking purdy)?

Surely Nofke must be in with a real chance. His home track, plenty of wickets under his belt, plus batting like a genuine all rounder.
Surely he'd do no worse than Tait or Johnson, and would strengthen the tail with Gillespie now gone for all money.

Flem did talk up Noffers chances (runs and wickets), and also SHYTYT's but let's be fair dinkum, allrounders ain't what we need right now.
