Symonds racially abused by Indian crowd

Of course there is racism in Australia.Nobody denies it.When you are busily looking up how bad the Aboriginals were treated in Australia go one step further and have a look at how the convicts were treated by the British at the same time.As a white Australian I can tell you that some of my ancestors were treated worse than the Aborigines were.Australia was founded by barbaric people.We have moved a long way forward as a society since then.Our prime minister is not racist,he is a realist.I refuse to apologise to the Aboriginal people as well,because I didn't personally do anything to them.I am sorry they were treated so badly by the British,and then by the settlers.I have however tried to help them by paying tax which leads to the government giving them billions to try and make their living conditions better.Australians do not complain about their taxes being spent in that way.The only thing I wonder is seeing how they live today and how short their life expectancy is,is how that money was spent by the leaders of their communities that are busily demanding that John Howard say sorry.I believe they are the ones who should be saying sorry.

We all have nasty stuff in our history: Who comes out as the baddies often has more to do with who wrote the history books than with what actually happened.
