Re: Australia in ODIs
My dear man, who ever said ego juice was an isolable liquid? They're the essence of the "solid" objects, just as sap is the essence of a leaf. Is a leaf any more hollow than the universe that contains it, full of unseen dark matter? Have you ever seen your ego? You have only seen its manifestations. Or not.

The universe is very hollow.

The universe is not hollow. It has unseen (and maybe unseeable by any means, ever) "stuff.

No-one will remember what the ODI results where.
No. In 20 years time, people will talk about how South Africa won 2-0 in the T20's.

Cricket will be dead before that happens. And I hope it is if the choice is T20s over Tests.Henry wrote:Invader Zim wrote:In 20 years time people will talk about how in the summer of 2008/2009 the Saffies beat Australia on their home turf for the first time, and then inexplicably capitulated at home.

Re: Australia in ODIs
Interesting old thread, mainly due to the contributions of Pinky and Woody ...
Returning to the thread's purpose though, and TO's anticipatory schadenfreude, yes, we're still shite ... and we did not win the WC final or even participate in it, for the first time in 12 years. However - and this says a lot about ODI cricket - we remain at number 1, for the moment. HTF did that happen?

This post was made in mid 2009. How quickly did Ferny disappear off the scene? Another victim of Hildickheadedness?embee wrote:It's distorted because we have only played SA and NZ ...and SA have smashed us
It could be the end of the run but I could see this team , if physically and mentally fit , going through undefeated again

Actually, didn't he initiate legal action against CA over his contract non-renewal or summat?

Pinky, an excellent and witty poster. Dropped in breifly recently. The place is poorer for his absence.lardbucket wrote:Interesting old thread, mainly due to the contributions of Pinky and Woody ...

"NATHAN Bracken has decided to take legal action against Cricket Australia because of a knee injury, despite competing in the new series of Dancing with the Stars.
The former left-arm swing bowler is suing CA for loss of income after a persistent knee problem forced the 33-year-old to retire in January"
