I think there is the feeling that Tremlett is a bit soft. Not just physically, but mentally. He's known as a bit of a gentle giant, but against India in 2007 he kept charging in and hitting the pitch hard, so i'm not really sure the accusations of being soft are true. Besides, Harmison receives chance after chance, and if Tremlett is soft, then Harmi is Samit Patel's stomach.

I hear Gary Pratt has been offered a new contract - a central one.
Short term. For three months.

Yeah, he'll be OK. This thread won't make it past page 5 however. Will probs have to resurrect it mid-August.

Just to be on the safe side we'll get JGK to put a few bucks on him playing all the Tests.JKLever wrote:He should be fit for the Ashes but who can say? You wouldn't exactly bet against him breaking down in the first test.skully wrote:So is all this "Freddy is broken" talk good for Aus in the Ashes? Or just a set back for the IPL?

Aye tails. Without wishing Freddy too much ill will, the sight of the big man on crutches as we fly into Heathrow will augur well for our chances in the Ashes.

Normal service has been resumed.
I might have made a little bit up in there somewhere.
Normal service has been resumed.
England could be forced to go into next month's ICC World Twenty20 without the services of their premier allrounder, Andrew Flintoff, after he revealed that he has yet to start running after undergoing surgery on a knee injury sustained during his brief stint at the IPL in April.
"I had an operation two weeks ago and I'm already off my crutches," he said. "The Ashes are a long way off - and I'll be fine to return for a couple of overs before breaking down again for them."
I might have made a little bit up in there somewhere.

We'll need to start serious planning without Fred. Hopefully he'll have a great swansong in this Ashes series if by some miracle he gets (and stays) fit but you can hardly move forward with a guy who plays one test in 7.
