At least it was attritional, as it should be, none of this 20 finishers crap of recent years.
Shame only 17 made it to the grid in the first place though...

Raikkonen bloody good too. Got to laugh at Alonso's misfortune. Gone from a bad car to a worse one. Red Bull worse than Red Bull B.

HAMILTON wins again in Bahrain
That's 3 out of 4; it's going to be a long season for his competitors (and viewers).

Sounds like Red Bull are getting pissed off with Renault. Their crapola engines are only good for boat anchors it seems.

Rosberg on pole in Spain, out-qualifying Hamilton.

Jesus!
Did anyone see this F3 crash, for which Mehri has been banned for a couple of races?
LINK
Latifi is lucky to be alive after that.

Oh dear, Jules Bianchi has succumbed to the injuries he sustained after that horror crash in Japan last year.

Sadly, we all saw the pictures at the time and all feared the worst.
Poor chap. I read his dad quoted the other day, saying they were no longer optimistic about his recovery, and figured it was just a matter of time.
Sad.

Re: Formula One World Championship
So, Suzuka is on in a few hours ... Hamilton seems likely to wrap up the championship; probably just a formality but maybe something could change that.
It's been a strange season ... not enough interest, with Mercedes utterly dominant.

It always was. I'm amazed he lived as long as that (thought he'd be DOA) but I guess it's a tribute to medical technology. And the helmet for ensuring there was actually a head left to keep alive.
RIP.

Well done to him and congratulations but nowhere near Senna as I'm sure everyone agrees. Nor Prost.
I got hold of many old full F1 seasons a while ago and have been watching a race every so often. Even accounting for the pink glasses it was better back then, and for some of them I wasn't even born so it's hardly nostalgia. There were some truly useless cars but even so, you never knew who would win each race, and they managed to overtake without all this artificial DRS bollocks. Even at Monaco of all places. And even the continuing revival of Williams isn't enough to keep me interested this season. I don't understand this modern cult-of-personality driver-only obsession, but Hamilton has it somehow despite being quite unlikeable in my opinion. Maybe it's just blind nationalism. Wouldn't surprise me; he is English.
Pretty cynical of Rossi. They've been at each other all season but that hardly justifies it

Re: Formula One World Championship
The Rosberg/Hamilton feud is hilarious. Well done to Lewis, but there's no such thing these days as a gentlemanly, sporting F1 championship winner, Nico.

Can’t see it being anything other than a procession, with no mandatory pit stops and nobody wanting to risk crashing or taking a penalty.JGK wrote:This Saturday sprint is a bit gimmicky isn't it?

there's bugger all overtaking in a full F1 race, let alone a shortened version.

Actually that sprint was quite fun. You get back markers who DGAF if they spin out and contenders worries about their grid position, resulting in Alonso passing 6 cars on the first lap!
