PAK Vs IND Test series

Since we started playing Tests against each other again in 1997 I think this is the first time
the series will be about IND bowling vs Pak Batting
Where as it has always been about
Pak bowling Vs Ind Batting

frankly india's batting looks stronger than pakistan's as well. anything less than a series win would be a big upset

Yeah. And it still will be India batting vs Pak bowling.

Depends on the pitches really, we've been pretty shite in tests for a while now, we only have two test standard batsmen and our openers are crap. If India don't win they should be very dissapointed.

I don't feel Misbah is a long term player he's 33, we need someone young while MoYo/YK are still around.

We already have three youngsters Our openers and Malik
and Misbah seems fit enough he could play for 5 to 6 years.

Although I think we should play akmal as an opener and bring in another keeper as akmal is playing better than our regular openers

Should be a good series.

I think Tanvir needs to be given a chance in this series. He looked quite good in Twenty20.

No way India will play a single spinner in their lineup on Indian wickets. The tests will be held at Kotla, Eden Gardens and Chinnaswamy, not bad tracks for spinners.

Provided he is fit, I think Chawla will be given a chance in this series, if he is in selectors' scheme of things for Australian tour.

Shahid Yousuf hasnt lived up to the expectations people had for him 2-3 years ago. What did Asim Kamal do wrong? The Pak middle order needs some grit, and he can provide it. But if they want a youngster to be blooded in the middle order, then surely Fawad Alam is now above S.Yousuf in the pecking order? Likely Pak-

Kaneria must be on thin ice, especially with the emergence of Rehman as a worthy spinning option. When was the last time Kaneria won a test for Pakistan, or took more than 3 wickets for less than 100 runs?

Quite a tough thing to answer when was the last time Kaneria won a test for Pak, though its easier to tell the other thing.

Last time Kaneria took more than 4 wickets in an innings conceding less than 100 runs was against SL in SL in '06, when he took 4/53 in the first innings.

Infact this was just 9th occasion in 48 tests he played for Pak that he took more than 3 wickets by conceding less than 100 runs in an innings. Here are other of those occasions.

2-Eng
1-WI
1-SA

So really, apart from his performances against Bangladesh, he's been pretty mediocre.

He performs well against Ban (16.41) and SL (25.87), mediocre against SA (30.44), WI (35.93), Ind (37.29) and NZ (39.00) and useless against Aussies (42.32) and Eng (45.14).

...but Poms are useless at playing leg spin

They're all right against long hops and full tosses, though...

And I just hate Chinnaswamy ground. We never win there.

We used to be good at Chinnaswamy. But of late we're losing there quite consistently. We've lost last 4/5 tests we played there, with 1 against Eng in '01 was drawn.
